It's already the last day of January! :x
Didn't 2012 just begin not too long ago?

Looks like all the good food, feasting and over-eating has started to show. Weighed myself after boxercise yesterday and found that I gained one kilo! That's already 2 kilos above my lowest weight last year. Alamak!

And that came on top of a spurt of physical activity over the past few days. On Saturday I went on my first ever trek in MacRitchie, in preparation for Kinabalu. It was only my first time there and yet I went to chiong the 11km trek. -_- It was really quite difficult - lots of ups and downs, the path was rocky, some parts of the trail were muddy, tree roots did not make the trek easy to navigate, and I was trying not to be too gung-ho about it because I don't want to fall and injure myself again!!! (The ugly keloids have already found a place to call home on my right knee sigh.) I half-jogged/walked the distance, and completed it in about 1 hour 45 mins, but next time round I'm just gonna walk the entire thing. Too exhausting.

I'm going to need a healthy dose of self-discipline and a bout of self-restraint to keep my weight in check and curb the over-eating! :(

(Bosses away for meetings outside for the whole week, feeling really lazy at work now...)

Hello, the 3rd day of 2012! :D

NYE was spent at Xiaojing's house with good food, polaroids, bridge, Saboteur, nachos and salsa dip! After that I headed to town. Our plans for a "happening" NYE countdown culminated into a cosy chit-chat session at Ice Cold Beer at SMU. Hahaha. Though not exactly the most happening countdown, but we still managed to catch a glimpse of the fireworks! Started the year talking late into the night with bosom buddies - that's also a pretty memorable way to celebrate the new year. :) The cab situation however, was horrible!!! :x

Following that was Wicked at MBS in the afternoon! Our seats were fabulous and for the price we paid, it was damn value for money! Hahaha. The musical was wonderful, the story was entertaining, but I found it to be a tad too long, especially for the first half of the show.

So that was my New Year's Day in 2012. :)

Anyway after concluding my previous entry abruptly, I didn't get to take a look at what I wanted to acomplish in 2011. I did a mid-year review but since now 2011 is over, it's time to relook at them:

1) Climb a mountain (we are aiming for Mount Kinabalu)
I'm putting this down in my short-term future plan, so hopefully it'll happen in the next 2-3 years or something. I'm starting off by climbing the stairs of Duxton!

2) Do something about that Phillips Securities account and start looking seriously into letting my money grow for me!
Pretty much fail for this one. :( Didn't do anything about it at all!!!

3) Get a pair of new spectacles
Simple enough. Somehow contact lenses came into the picture too hahaha.

4) See a derm about my ugly back
After more than half a year of monthly injections, most of my ugly keloids have flattened, but there are scars, and I can only hope that the scars will lighten over time. There's still one that's pretty big and stubborn. Hopefully they won't grow again.

5) Have the discipline to maintain my exercise regime
Another straightforward one. Save for the few weeks that I was on holiday and the last 2 weeks of the year where I couldn't really do much because of my injured body parts, I have been trying to move my ass around whenever I can. I hope in the coming year my work will still allow me to attend all my exercise classes conducted in the office.

6) Embrace new challenges that may or may not arise in my job
I think I did pretty OK for this one. As long as they don't start talking about boring pipes and M&E stuff. Still applicable in 2012!

Sadly, I did not have the tenacity and discipline to update my photoblog daily. :( But it still serves as a pretty good reminder of what I did last year. If you are one of those who think that the year usually passes by so quickly without you even remembering what happened, start a daily photoblog too! It'll be interesting when you look back at your photos and see how your year unfold. I quote myself on my very first photoblog post:
因为 摄影 是让瞬间 变成永恒的魔法。
I don't think I'll continue with the photoblog in 2012, because it's really tiresome to think of photos to take on an otherwise boring mundane day (and there are many such days in my life) but there was a suggestion to do a weekly one. Maybe I'll do that instead?

Tons of photos to post espeically on the very successful bake-out session on New Year's Eve Eve! That shall be for another day.

Going back to work after a 10-day long break sucks big time. :(

Damnity damn! My thigh keloid flattened after the jabs, but I think it's starting to resurface again! It's feeling a leeeeeetle bumpy. Gonna ask the Dr to check it and maybe give it another jab during my next visit! GRRRRR.

Compared to last year, this year's F1 weekend was pretty quiet and uneventful.

I'm bored at work, bosses are all at a offsite meeting, and blogging at work does not reflect well professionally or otherwise, but hey, I'm bored at work (and there's no one in the office)!

So anyway I don't know how it happened, but it's already September, and while it's all cool to angst and very tempting to proclaim "wake me up when September ends", I thought of my list of things to do for 2011 and decided to take stock of my life a little. Why? Because I'm at point in my life where I am feeling absolutely aimless, bored, and I have no friends to hang out with.

Take a look at my list:

1) Climb a mountain (we are aiming for Mount Kinabalu) - FAIL, have not seriously started this at all
2) Do something about that Phillips Securities account and start looking seriously into letting my money grow for me! - FAIL, too lazy to read up and no money to invest
3) Get a pair of new spectacles - DONE but it's not as if it's an accomplishment
4) See a derm about my ugly back - DONE and still ongoing
5) Have the discipline to maintain my exercise regime - DONE and it's ongoing
6) Embrace new challenges that may or may not arise in my job - DONE and still trying to embrace it

4 out of 6, I passed! But then again, that wasn't a very ambitious list to begin with. I also started my Project 365, which is now in a semi-comatose state. While I have tried to take daily snapshots, I have been extremely lazy in uploading them. So now I have a ton of photographs in my computer/iPhone that are not uploaded. For starters, I think I better start aiming for that mountain thing and make it a reality.

Currently I have no major complaints with my job but I'm bored shitless by my personal life. There is always something that makes you feel that there should be more to life than work. Every now and then I get smacked in the face by a quarter-life crisis; this is one of those times.

Think the jabs are starting to show some effect! The one on my thigh feels flatter and the one right smack in the middle of my chest seems smaller and flatter too. Fabulous! I hope the steroids continue to work their magic! :D

Battling tons of ulcers, sigh, perhaps my internal system is too heaty? 4 on tongue, 1 on bottom lip, 1 huge one on the inside of my cheek which I bit at least 5 times in 2 days. :(

Ugh man I am so hungry now. Had an overly sweet cup of Koi just now. I think I'm now more of a Gong Cha fan.

Seriously my life has been boring! :x Oh I finally decided to do something about my keloids. Purely for vanity reasons. And this was also one of the things that I said I should do for 2011! The jabs I had 5 years ago? Didn't quite work. So I decided to pay good money to go see a specialist at National Skin Centre. GOOD MONEY! $65 for a 5-10 min chat with the doctor!!! @*$(&%&Y!$!)$U!!! And I have to go get my back poked once a month. Sigh! The things girls do for the sake of vanity!!!

Oh well. I should try and take some pictures so that I can compare the "before" and "after" and see if there is any improvement. So that at least I know that my money is well spent. Or not.

Later today I'm going to meet the No Chemistry dude, I don't know what to say to him, how how how how how how how how how how how how how how how how how how?!

But I had a good day yesterday. :) I think when you really want to meet someone, you will make an effort to meet them and spend time with them even though the things you do may not be particularly exciting.
