Oh DARN!
The CORS website is not available now and I'm dying to see if I got my Psychology 1101E module! I wasted all my bidding points on it! 519pts! I hope I get the stupid module! I had to sacrifice French for that module grrrrrrrr.

The Arts O-Week aka Orientation started today and my throat doesn't feel too good now (I suspect that I've lost my lovely voice forever to the evils of Karaoke and now speak with a gruff, harsh and hoarse tone). I realize that Hokkien cheers are quite rampant and common, and are actually quite amusing, and then we played some games and blah blah blah the usual stuff lah.

Trying to get rid of my anti-social-ness, and I think it's working quite well. Hahaha.

Orientation continues tomorrow... dum dum dum dum... *cue Beethoven's Symphony No. 5*
---------
[edit] I got Psycho! I got Psycho! I just checked my email. I wonder how many points I wasted on it, damn. I bet at least 500. Oh nevermind. My future is at stake. Better being bankrupt than not getting enough MCs to graduate.

Also got Sociology and ICM; these 3 are the ones that I'm "experimenting" with. Heh heh.

Went to NTU today to have lunch with the NTU girls. Then we went to Xiaojing's hostel. Which is so nice! After visiting her hostel and getting a little feel of what hostel life is about I half-wished that I was staying in a hostel too (preferably one that is as new and nice as hers) because being independent and the freedom and all seemed like a really alluring prospect, haha.

NTU is very big. Compared to NUS, I mean. In NUS, all you see are buildings. In NTU, there are lots of space and greenery... but it's quite difficult to get around.

Boohoo I don't want school to start. :(

Aiyah! Damn screwed!!!

All that bidding crap and modular system and funny emails and CAP and _____ (insert random university jargon). Furthermore I suspect my NUS email account cannot compose emails because there's some missing programme in my Windows! Ahhhh!!!

My poor heart cannot take it. I'm not used to being stressed.

Aiyah!!! Andaccording to some high-ranking staff there my Cumulative Average Point (aka CAP) cannot be lower than 3.0 which translates to the fact that I cannot get lower than C for anything!!! Arghhh!!! And if I don't get a C-average for more than 2 semesters I will be kicked out of NUS!!!

And I haven't started bidding for my modules!!! I don't even know how the stupid system works! What with Round 1 and Round 1A and blah blah blah... What if I can't get anything that I want?

And tomorrow is the start of the supposed Arts Orientation Week but there has been no news from the organizers/OGLs and I don't even know what time to appear in campus tomorrow!

Damn screwed!

I shall go and watch TV.

And because I didn't get the chance to use the computer on Sunday at all, I shall now complain about the patrons of public swimming pools.

There are 2 types of swimmers who are just plain annoying:
1. The free-style swimmers in the continuous lap lanes
2. The irritating kids having lessons or just playing and making nuisances out of themselves in the deep pool.

The free-style swimmers just barge through the water even though they are wearing goggles. And because public pools are usually crowded, I have to dodge and squirm in between 2 on-coming free-stylers and worse still, if I don't see them coming (goggles fogged up) I just crash right into them or I gotta make a swift manouver (sp?) before we both suffer from brain concussions. Grrrrrrr. So inconsiderate. Can't they just try to stop and see who's going to crash into them instead of just splashing to and fro to try and complete their x number of laps?!

And the irritating annoying pests (aka KIDS!) in the pool make me want to slap them sometimes. Grrrrrr. They keep obstructing my swimming path and they will barge in out of the blue. As illustrated:

My picture looks like it has chicken pox but the pink dots represent pesky kids.

And the kids will intrude into the continuous lap path and play their silly games and I have to keep dodging them. Plus, they like to bounce up and down on the rope seperating the lanes which I find highly annoying. When I swim too close to the ropes it will hit me and then I feel like slapping the kids even more. Grrrrrrr.

See, kids are nothing but nuisances. Grrrrrrrr.

Bleargh.

Foldclothes foldclothes foldclothes foldclothes foldclothes foldclothes foldclothes foldclothes foldclothes foldclothes foldclothes foldclothes foldclothes foldclothes foldclothes foldclothes.

Sorethroat sorethroat sorethroat sorethroat sorethroat sorethroat sorethroat sorethroat sorethroat sorethroat sorethroat sorethroat sorethroat sorethroat sorethroatsorethroat (it hurts when I swallow).

I read this article in The Sunday Times about the wholivesnearyou.com website and being easily swept by fads and curiousity, I have signed up for an account harharhar.

Hopefully it'll give me something more to do online, like the now passe Friendster.

Matriculation today. Aye, it's so sad and lonely not to know anyone in the humongous faculty and to trespass new terrain alone. Or rather, I do know ONE person (a secondary school classmate) but her surname doesn't start from O-TA. :(
Basically after doing the mandatory stuff (submitting forms and collecting the matriculation card) we were lured to watch this video about Rag Day, Flag Day and bits and pieces here and there. And then we were pursuaded to buy this Matriculation pack that costs $10 and comes with a T-shirt, a file, and some other goodies like a can of Coke Light haha. And a K-box voucher!!! Woo! If you ask me, I think the most worth-it thing in the Matriculation pack is the K-box voucher. :)
Oh then we were directed to this CCA fair which I tried to hurriedly walk through even though every now and then flyers and brochures were thrust at me and my hands were so full, plus I had to carry the extremely heavy Matriculation pack and some other free goodie bag ugh. Poor fingers.

And there are FASS talks tomorrow at 9am!!! That is TOO early. Ugh. :(

But at least I'll have something to do.
I predict I'll sleep through the talks. I haven't slept in an LT for a long time. Hahahaha.

Consumed by overwhelming boredom

Sigh.

I'm incredibly bored.

It's a nice (and cold) Saturday and I'm bumming around at home with nothing to do.
My grandmother came over and now my little sister is acting like a kid who just recently found a playmate of her own age. Tsk. She's making a lot of noise and trying to engage my grandmother in her childish activities, which I find somewhat amusing. Firstly, my grandmother doesn't seem to understand what my sister is trying to say in Chinese and secondly,  my sister behaves as though she doesn't have a childhood, trying to play with dentures and stuff. Tsk. Haha, at least I'm glad I had my other sister to play with when I was young. We used to play "school" (a result from repeatedly reading Malory Towers and St. Claire's) and "teacher" and pretending that my bookshelf was the "library". But the only borrower of the books was my sister lah. Hahahaha.

Enough reminicising the past. I'm extremely b-o-r-e-d aha. I could go and count how much I've spent this month but it'll just serve as another helpful reminder that I'm broke and cashless sigh.

So how. How how how how how how how how how how how how how I'm so bored lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala and there's nothing better to do except to type letters L and A lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala or maybe letters H and A hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha arrrrggggghhhhhhhhhhh!

Only 6.20pm and all I did today was to eat lunch, watch The Bachelor, read the papers, finish reading some book I borrowed from the library, and fold the clothes. And come online. In that order. Ahhhhhhhh somebody entertain meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! :(

The Amazing Race post-show dissection

a. Marshall and Lance are Jerks and therefore should be eliminated as soon as possible. I hope they get kicked out next week.
b. Kami and Karli don't seem too bright.
c. Charla joined this race to supposedly show the world what she can do, but she keeps using her height as an advantage to gain sympathy from random strangers to help her. Isn't that rather contradictory?
d. But I don't deny that she is one very tough lady, unlike her team-mate. Tsk.
e. I can't decide if I like Brandon/Nicole or not. They seem like hypocrites.

Hmmm. Medical checkup today was mildly interesting, though I dread the long, arduous journeys back and fro to school from now on. It's horribly Long and Boring. And because I woke up too late and ate only a piece of cake to last me for breakfast and lunch, I felt queasy and uncomfortable. I must remember not to starve myself, and at the same time, not to overeat. Overeating is one happy habit/guilty pleasure I overindulge in, tsk.

I was thinking a bit about how drama-mama I'd be sometimes, reading too much into things, thinking too much, making a mountain out of a molehill. Flowery language, lengthy phrases... Maybe it's just to make my life more interesting and to make myself seem interesting. Hur hur. But over-exaggerating stuff and acting as though Life Is Full Of Difficult Choices And I Am So Troubled Just Because... just makes life more miserable. Who knows, maybe I secretly desire that my life is more soap-opera worthy, like My Best Friend Is Battling Anorexia or My Parents Are Arguing With Each Other Non-Stop. But then again I certainly don't wish for the above scenarios to happen so I should be happy that my life is Boring. So, a boring life is a happy one?

Am hungry and dying for junk food to munch on but there isn't anything at home... except bananas. Sigheth.
I like bananas, but I want junk food! Things that are choke-full of unhealthy fats and carbs and MSG but taste good.
But anyway, supper is bad because it makes you Fat. Hur hur.
Ahhhh FOOOODDDD, where art thou?!

Back from the Meritus Mandarin hotel stay, which was well, posh. We had a suite and luckily I brought my sleeping bag this time so I managed to snuggle quite comfortably on the carpeted floor.

The birthday celebration was quite a gay affair, with LOTS of balloons, streamers and 3 very surprised birthday girls.

Oh, and I must mention the M. Sultan fiasco. Us being rather clubbing idiots, decided to grab this wonderful opportunity and go in search for Zouk or something but we arrived only to realize that it was closed. Hahahahahaha. Is that fate or what. Anyway, I realized that Zouk isn't in M. Sultan road, but near M. Sultan. So anyway, we got horribly lost trying to get from Zouk to M. Sultan, (I think we must have taken some very terrible detours) and we hiked all the way in heels and everything and finally stumbled upon M. Sultan, thanks to the navigation skills and bravery of one of my friends, with aching feet and 8 very exhausted girls.

Hahahahaha.

So we entered this place called Dbl O and I learnt my lesson and did not order a Margarita. I got something with 0% alcohol called Gunner and now I am a Gunner-fan! (it's actually ginger ale with Sprite or something) BUT, I realize that it's not just ME who has violent reactions to Margarita. 2 of my friends ordered Margarita and they also suffered complex reprecussions (one puked and the other had a tummy-ache) so I conclude that Margarita is a vile, abominable and cursed concoction (unless you boast to be a good drinker). Haha.

So be warned.

Right, then we went to Glutton's Square and I pigged out massively with Satay, Sambal Stingray, Carrot Cake, and Hokkien Mee. Sigh. But it was very nice sitting in the open air carpark and enjoying the peacefulness of Orchard Road at 3am, under trees with worms dropping down onto your hair... just kidding.

Then we watched this movie called The Iron Ladies which was rather entertaining and at the same time, reflective of the society towards cross-dressers, gays, transvestites, etc. The others started slowly drooping off to dreamland while I padded around the huge suite, waiting for my turn in the bathroom. Went to sleep at about 7am, but not after peeking down from the 15th level, looking down at Orchard Road and its, well, moment of serenity. Marvelling that in just a couple of hours it'll change completely into a bustling road with heavy traffic, lots of pedestrains and people acting busy. Haha.

The next day we checked out and had la mian and xiao long bao for lunch, and then went to Karaoke (yes, despite my fervent claims that I will not Karaoke until my voice comes back completely). Was good fun, but I can't shout and scream. SIGH.

But weirdly enough, after 4hrs of Karaoke my voice doesn't seem hoarse and er, low. It's back to normal! Yayyyyyy!!!

All in all, I have been proven very incorrect and concluded that I am suffering from a superiority-complex.

My parents and my little sister are going on a cruise today, and my mother has been dishing out instructions on washing the clothes, drying the clothes, locking the door, feeding the fish, etc etc... I found it somewhat amusing because the last time I heard someone telling me not to answer the door when there are strangers was when I was in Primary 3.

Medical checkup tomorrow... one thing that I'm not looking forward to is standing on a weighing scale!!! Especially after my massive gluttony ways... er, I resolved to go jogging but it's now -checks clock- 6.30pm and er, in my opinion 6.30pm is too late to go jogging. Haha, excuses excuses :)
Monday, 19 July 2004 0 comments
Ugh something is wrong with the cruise photos because there's this ugly picture of a clock appearing instead of the photos and I want to download them so I can develop them argh argh argh!!!

Anyway, I feel accomplished today because I swam 30 laps! Woohoo!!! *shakes pompoms*
That may not seem like a great achievement but I don't swim 30 laps normally. I swim only 20-odd laps.

And I had steamboat today for dinner, so I think that meal negated the effect of actually swimming 30 laps in the first place. Sigh.

I seem to swing like a pendulum bob -- alternating between craving for solitude and surrounding myself with people.

I had a sudden urge to read through my archives, and it seems rather magical that all those stuff that I've been complaining/describing about happened months and months ago when it felt like it just happened yesterday. Indeed, time passes by too fast for me to stop and say Hi.

Months and months just go by without me even noting that the amount of time that I've wasted is sufficient for me to accomplish something much more significant.

4.42am now, and it's storming outside. Cool. :)

满肚子的委屈,一时说不出来。

But I realize what I say or blog about can affect the people around me, and that is not what I want.

Oh, to be totally truthful and honest with yourself, but yet at the same time exercise some form of self-censorship... what a paradox.

But right now I can't describe what I truly feel because I don't even know what I feel.
I'm just harping on it and thinking and thinking and thinking even more and the more I think the more resentment I feel so yah I should just stop thinking and pondering because I'm such a sucker for self-torture.

I truly appreciate my friends.

But yah, sometimes it gets too much.

Right. --------Subject closed--------

On to more frivolous stuff.

Ooh Medical Checkup next week, and I went to weigh myself on the weighing machine in the hotel and -gasp- I have actually attained an astronomical figure (my heaviest yet) so that is Not Good News. Is there a TAF club in university? I think I might actually land myself in it.
Given the fact that I'm not going to grow taller anymore and yet I don't seem to lose those kilos despite swimming and jogging and the occasional cycling trips... ugh! What else can I do? Gulp down Extrim/Xando pills?
My Body Mass Index is about 22. :(

Aiyeeee!!! :(
:(
:(
:(

I need a miracle to lose kilos before the medical checkup.

Or maybe I shouldn't bother myself with stupid things like my weight. Just let myself balloon. It seems like once you hit pass the 50kg mark it's very difficult to squash the figure back to the under-50s.

And then I can get new clothes because my waistline cannot accomodate my old stuff. Hee hee heeeeeeeee. -wails in despair-

Irrational Musings at 3 AM

Is it possible to get sick of your friends?
I feel like I'm such a huge hypocrite.
But if it could reach this stage, then I guess the "friendship" isn't that strong in the first place and at the end of the day, if you start examining all the cracks and flaws, it's not really friendship.
It's sheer tolerance.
I've once dealt with this "tolerance" issue before and now I'm facing it again.
I'm just tolerating -- for what purpose, I'm still unsure.
Perhaps it's the feeling of wanting to belong.
For companionship.
For security.
For a comfort zone.

On the other hand, I look closely at the bond that I share with my good old friend of 7 years and it's still going on as strong as ever. It doesn't make me feel suffocated. Or maybe we've just gotten so used to each other that we can be blunt, rude, and brutally honest with each other and we know it won't offend. It's not just tolerance, it's mutual respect.
So that's what is missing in that equation.
Mutual respect, and understanding.

It's sad that people can't move on, myself included. Sometimes we just love to dwell on the past, to think of the happy times, to harbour delicious thoughts about recreating that certain magical scene.
And along the way, inevitably, people change, especially when each person's goal and direction is so different (or maybe because they were never similar in the first place). They change at different rates (sounds very chemical-like!) and so they realize that there is a widening gap and they start to drift apart.
But I guess some just don't understand that. They cling on fiercely and remain stagnant. It's like repelling some unknown force that requires you break free.
Still, it takes courage to pull away from something that has been so familiar.

I just don't understand why everything is "mandatory". It seems forced, and very fake.
I don't see the need to play dress up, to make a big deal out of a small event, to make everything so grand and "happening".
Sometimes, the simple things are the most enjoyable.

The more forced it becomes, the more resentment I feel.
It's worse when you hear stuff that is not very flattering about yourself, but anyway, you can't please the world.
I'm not sure if I'm in it because it's "obligatory", or if I'm really wanted.
That's something to ponder about.

[scribbled at 3am]

Emotional jargon. Booooooo. :(
I need to be more light-hearted.
Where has the skippy carefree 天塌下来当被盖 yipee-doo-dah girl gone to?

How interesting! :) :)

But I don't quite fancy colourful fonts and quirky buttons for convenience. Nothing is more meaningful and self-satisfying than coding them yourself, IMO.

Was reading today's Life! article about universities' orientation camps. Yours truly over here didn't attend any. :( It's becoming a form of regret, for not being oh-so gung-ho and yeehah! about stuff like camps. Though I hate socialising for the sake of, you know, socialising, I guess it wouldn't hurt to go and mix around and know more people. Especially when I'm going to be all alone in that terrifying jungle of strangers, and it would be good not to feel so lost. (See? Socialising purely for one's own motives. Sigh.) And in retrospect, such camps actually do sound quite interesting and er, appealing. I just need to break out of my comfort zone for a while.

Doesn't help too, when my mother keeps asking me how come I don't have any camps when so-and-so has gone for such-and-such a camp.

And nothing is more irritating than typing a whole lot of junk and then, short of hitting the "publish" button, the whole brower hangs. -_____-

I try not to make comparisions, but it's hard.

What is so freaking annoying is that I'm now accused of being uncooperative (hello! like who's usually the one who shows a black face and sulks when things don't go her way?) and being rude and throwing tantrums.

I find it very irritating when plans are made without any consultation.
When it is assumed that oh yes! Everyone will be able to make it, everyone will agree with me, everyone will follow what I say.

Overbearing. Much, much too overbearing. It's stifling and suffocating and I'm choking on the residue.

So, if you think I'm rude, I'll be ruder.
If you think I'm uncooperative, I'll make things even more difficult for you.
Because I'm a selfish human being and that's the way I do things and that's the way I speak and if you can't accept it then too bad.

Since my voice is not back, and I have no enthusiasm for anything else, I'll just sit at home and complain the ceiling down.

Something must have gone wrong along the way.
It's built too much on the past, and I can't stand it. I want to move on. I want to break away.
The more frantic attempts are made to salvage this, the more unbearable it becomes. Soon it becomes nothing but a cocoon of memories and no substance.

I'm behaving so much like a Mean Girl.

I used to think that if I had to be deaf, blind or mute, I'd rather be mute.
After all, I am a horribly reticent girl with a penchant of not uttering a single word for hours, especially in the presence of strangers.

But now, I realize that not being able to speak and communicate properly is such an agony.
I guess like some silly saying goes, you gotta lose something to appreciate it better.

Sometimes I think that mothers exist purely for the purpose to irritate.

And... Olympics in 30 more days!

I hate 霹雳火.
It's the most irritating, insufferable TV show in the universe.
When on earth is it going to end its run?!
It's been going on for a hundred over episodes and seems to show no sign of ending.
GAH!

Well.
It has been tested and proven that I am alcohol-intorlerant. Therefore I shall be a teetotaler from now on.

Which is a bit funny, because I have drank red wine on previous ocassions, albeit very diluted with ice cubes, and nothing happened to me.
But then again, on another occasion, I looked remarkably like a tomato and started itching terribly when I drank non-diluted red wine.
I drank 4% alcoholic beverages, no itching observed.
I drank the Singapore Swing, face turned red.
I drank strawberry flavoured beer, no reaction.
I drank Margarita (from dictionary.com: A cocktail made with tequila, an orange-flavored liqueur, and lemon or lime juice, often served with salt encrusted on the rim of the glass) and ta-da! BOOM! Instant reaction.
Hence I conclude that I shall be a partial teetotaler and stick with safe stuff like fruit wines with 1% alcohol. Hahaha.

Besides itching (due to some obscure chemical reaction in my body), I am also suffering from a bad cough with lots of disgusting yellowish-phlegm, a sore left eye (the doctor said it was conginivitis??? or some ___itis), and no voice.

No voice due to Karaoking (i.e. Screeching/Screaming/Shouting) too much.
See, on Monday, I went for the Ichee stayover and we watched Mean Girls, played some food game, and Karaoked for about 4 hours.
All was well and fine in the beginning. We went a bit mad and a bit high in between.
After 2 hours of KTV-ing, my voice became hoarser.
And hoarser.
And soon it dwindled to nothingness.
So now, I speak with a whisper and a croak.

My voice fluctuated between bad and terribly bad while we went back to the hotel and embarked on a trip to some funny place to get a drink. All of us tried some cocktails and then towards the end, I started blushing and resembled a tomato/fire engine/hongbao/apple/chilli/etc. Then my eye started feeling sticky and there was some funny discharge. We got back to the hotel and "建桥-ed" for a while, but I felt increasingly nauseous and headachy. So I puked out my dinner (see all the mushroom bits swirling around!) and then dozed off for a while, smelling of puke.

At about 3am I woke up and felt instantly better. The headache was gone and my stomach wasn't trying to play peek-a-boo with my throat. See what a nap can do. hahaha. Took a bath, but still smelt like puke. Anyway, the other girls were reaching their tolerance peak and started dozing off one by one. Since I missed out on all the exciting conversations and didn't feel sleepy at all, I started gorging cup noodles and reading Cleo while Sze Hsien, Xiaojing and Chun Yan tried to squeeze onto one bed and Pam and Xiuhui were sleeping happily on the other.
Of course that didn't rank high up in the comfort factor for us four poor souls who had to squeeze onto one single bed. I tried to sleep with my head on the foot of the bed and the rest of me on two chairs but that didn't work. Sometime in the middle of the night when I was still wide awake, the three of them woke up and we tried to rearrage positions so that there was ample space for everyone (which is still not a lot). I think we managed to fitfully doze off for a while and catch some Zzzs.

Morning came and the sun rays streamed in through the window. Sleep deprived and all, we played more bridge and then went for brunch. And then I came home and conked out. So that concludes my fun (well, maybe not so since I couldn't talk) stayover with Ichee. Heh.

Shall stay away from Karaoking for the rest of my life
for 3 months
until my voice comes back. :)

Anyway, I still have no voice and I just went down to NUS to submit the stupid CPF application form which they claimed that they will send it to me when I went to submit Form A but guess what?! I got my matriculation package yesterday and there was no CPF form! So I kopped the form from NTU's package. Hah.
I can't imagine myself commuting to and fro to NUS everyday. Just thinking of how far it is makes me all the more reluctant for school to start.

How interesting it is to note that how others choose to live in memories of the past, trying to rebuild friendships based on past memories. Sandy and folks want to have a hotel stayover too, at the flashy Meritus Mandarin, no less.
I am just too tired, sick and jaded to be enthusiatic about the whole idea.

我好像在刻意挑拨离间。

But anyway, there is The Amazing Race tonight. Woohoo!

Ugh. My arms are aching, I have a headache and my throat is sore (must be from all that screeching during Karaoke and the pseudo-screams at Wild Wild Wet). And there is the phlegm-y aftertaste in my throat. Ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh.

Will go to sleep now. Good night world.

I was clearing my drawer and throwing out junk at 1am.
Actually I think cleaning is quite enjoyable, but only when it's so filthy that when you wipe, you clean away all the layers of dust and the rag looks black and disgusting. Then at least you feel like you've accomplished something!

I was also throwing out bits and pieces of school life, like my Sec 3 timetable, entry proofs, telephone networks and stuff like that which I didn't throw out when I was throwing my notes away. Which anyway, reminds me that there is actually a secondary school class chalet today and tomorrow. But eh, I have no intention of going because I'm sick of fufilling social obligations and social interactions. And I have nothing to say anyway. As usual.

And anyway one can expect the usual speech of 1. which university are you going to? 2. what course are you taking?
Yawn.

Anyway, I saw this piece of paper which I didn't know whether to throw or keep. It's a "souvenir" of the 1st 3 months.
"...so gentle and quiet... reminds me of sheep/lamb..."
"very gentle ger leh u!"
"Very gentle, very quiet. no much gals so quiet and gentle like u nowadays." ???!!!???!!!
"A quiet and gentle gal."
"A cool and quiet gal..."
"... very gentle and cool."
"'Gentle as a lamb' is a phrase that comes to me whenever I gaze at you." O___o?
"U r a beri quiet and gentle girl."

Oh my. After typing that out I feel like laughing my head off.
I think we all possibly need to expand our vocabulary beyond the range of "gentle", "cool" and "quiet".
Unfortunately, I have people-phobia especially when faced with a big group hence everyone thinks I'm "GENTLE! QUIET! NICE GIRL!" which is actually... er, true? Hahahaha! But I don't think I'm only entitled to having one type of personality right?

Oh! And I went to Wild Wild Wet today.
In my very honest opinion, I think that it's a total rip-off!
The most exciting ride is the forgot-what-it's-called-but-resembles-a-viking-ship ride. Which lasts about 10 seconds.
And there aren't many water slides to begin with. Sigh.
Rip-off!

OK. Friday = The Bachelor. Unfortunately I know who won, even though I tried very hard to forget the winner's face on Trista and Ryan's Wedding. Bah.
Monday = Extreme Makeover
Wednesday = The Amazing Race!!! AHHHH!!! :) :) :) :) :) :)
Friday = The Bachelor
Saturday = Joe Millionaire
Weekdays 7pm show.
Yah that sort of concludes my TV schedule. And insert a few random shows here and there.

Had a rather enjoyable day of cheesecake, shopping (I found green earrings!), and screeching (i.e. Karaoking).

And then The Amazing Race 5! Which I have gotten very excited over. Heh heh.

The end.

I just had the most unappetizing lunch ever.
And, there is something wrong with either my browser or the internet connection which in any case, is making me very irritated.
Plus, my template coding keeps getting devoured by the very hungry Blogger. BAH.

Quiz from here.

You are a WRCL--Wacky Rational Constructive Leader. This makes you a golden god. People gravitate to you, and you make them feel good. You are smart, charismatic, and interesting. You may be too sensitive to others reactions, especially criticism. Your self-opinion and mood depends greatly on those around you.

You think fast and have a smart mouth, is a hoot to your friends and razorwire to your enemies. You hold a grudge like a brass ring. You crackle.

Although you have a leader's personality, you often choose not to lead, as leaders stray too far from their audience. You probably weren't very popular in high school--the joke's on them!

You may be a rock star.

***

Went cycling yesterday. Now my butt hurts. :(
Was looking at the marvelous photos from cycling (courtesy of Pam!) and they really crack me up. :)
I love photos with stupid and ridiculous poses.

It's a dark, gloomy Tuesday afternoon, very cool and nice, good weather for sleeping. But I just woke up 2 hours ago and I need to return my library books later.

The weekend was boring. I can't even remember what I did.

For my own interest:
1. Taphophilia (noun) - A love of funerals, graves, cemetries.
Actually I can think of someone who might be a taphophilia. Hmmmmm.

2. Neophilia (noun) - The trait of being excited and pleased by novelty. Neophobia has the opposite meaning.

3. Nosophilia (noun) - A desire to be ill; love of sickness.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I can think of another person who might be (mildly) nosophilic (?).

4. Nephophobia (noun) - A fear of clouds.
Now this one is interesting. A fear of clouds?!

I wonder if there is any book or webpage on these funny phobias/fears/desires.

Today I went on a huge shopping spree with my sister!
Was just basically eyeing the big posters with the word "SALE!" and then heading towards the racks of clothing.
Heh, I feel quite happy about my purchases even though I have squandered away my hard-earned cash from working at the Expo like there's no tomorrow. I have finally found a green top but I didn't manage to find green earrings. Next, I'll target blue tops, purple tops, orange tops, and yellow tops. This is part of my plan to make my wardrobe as multi-coloured as possible.

It's so nice to feel rich. Or semi-rich, anyway. (or the illusion that you are rich!)
It's okay to splurge once in a while.
I'll hibernate at home for the rest of July!

Oh it's a Happy Day!
They don't call it retail therapy for nothing!

Oh Happy Day!
Oh Happy Day!

Shopping?
Money?
My pay?

Anyway, I wish I could stop tutoring my cousin because she's such a brat! Besides showing absolutely zero interest in whatever that I'm trying to tell her, she's indolent and terribly lazy. She turns her back on me when I'm trying to explain some Maths problems to her, doesn't even bother improving her English because she's too lazy to read and check the dictionary for words that she doesn't know, and goes to the toilet for long stretches of time, presumably to try to shorten the "length of her suffering". EEHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I'd rather teach my sister Maths anytime. At least my sister is responsive and willing to learn!

And no amount of tuition teachers will be able to help her if she's going to have such a disgusting attitude towards her studies. Even Me the Slacker paid attention during tuition classes and attend remedials dutifully. -angelic look- Even if I do fall asleep during lectures and tutorials. Hah.

Yes post-work plans. Very very excited. ONE MORE MONTH before school starts. Eeks. And I haven't received any news from NUS about anything, except that they keep sending brochures of camps and club activities. Is that normal?

My very British name is Emily Wilson.
Take The Very British Name Generator today!

My crappy little elf name is Quimmy Merryweather.
What's yours?

Some stupid name generators.

Oh boy somebody stop me from buying too many pairs of earrings.

I have probably ran up an astronomical amount for my expenditure. Ahhhhhhh. :(

I finally went to watch Shrek 2 today at the expense of gobbling down the cheesecake from NYDC. Eh. Gobbling food totally ruins the enjoyment of being able to taste and savour it. Anyway, note to self: only go to NYDC if you have a lot of time to spare because you spend half the time trying to get the waiter's attention and half the time waiting for a miserable slice of cake to arrive.
