Went to watch Mr and Mrs Smith today. I wanted to watch it coz I wanted to see the wonderful chemistry that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie supposedly has (the Pitt-Aniston spilt and the Pitt-Jolie rumoured pairing was good publicity too) and oh boy they certainly did not disappoint! And Angelina Jolie is drop dead gorgeous man! She's hot hot hot!!! They make a damn good couple! They look too bloody good together, they have great chemistry, and they SIZZLE! I've never seen a couple that looks so perfect and natural together. They look like they're created solely for the purpose to complement each other.

Haha yes I can't stop gushing about Angelina Jolie. She epitomizes beauty and sexiness!

They should really just get together (if they are already not together). I am all for their union!

Anyway the movie wasn't bad. Two beautiful people leading the dangerous life, and they still managed to get out alive after all that gunshooting and bombing. A little bit ridiculous in real life though. I mean after all that shooting us lesser mortals would have perished somewhere in the rubble but I am not a trained assassin so I can't speak for them. And I also adore their little conversations which are peppered with hidden meaning.

Yeah I love beautiful ladies who can kick ass! Hahaha :)

I say, Exterminate All Inconsiderate Swimmers. Exterminate All Annoying Kids.

Yes you the girl with the bright yellow swimsuit, I glare at you through my moisture-filled goggles. Go and play in the kiddy pool. Do not play in the middle of nowhere! I will bulldoze my way through and give all irritants a big kick.

Ouch, sorry that was not done on purpose. Shoo shoo.

I also want to blog about my evening spent loitering at the multi-purpose hall downstairs with the neighbourhood RC while entrusted with the task of keeping an eye on my little sister. Sadly, while I was insipred there and then and was prepared to fill my blog with my own musings, that little train of thought disappeared when I try to recall it.

Great-grandma's returning from UK soon, and I look forward to seeing her big hair again. :)

Forget about saving for Beijing 2008. I am going to get a bloody printer. The stupid printer that I have now sucks! As I type this with ink-stained fingers (and an ink-stained right heel), that useless machine cannot spew out black ink even though I've been cleaning it's nozzle head about twenty times already and I tried to refill the bloody ink but ended up getting ink all over the floor and now the floor tiles are permanently stained with black ink! What the hell. Luckily the tiles have these patterned bits on them so the black ink isn't really that discernable. Kinda just blends in with those patterned bits.

Raaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrr I just found more ink-stains on my t-shirt and my leg!!! Raaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrr!!!!!! Lousy printer!!!!

I am damn pissed because my mother refused to let me watch my TV show. And she yelled very loudly at me like I am 6 years old again at 1145pm just because I want to watch TV and she wants to watch her stupid 7pm and 9pm shows. Yah lah very stupid and childish of me but ~!#$%^&*!!!!!!!!

And she's watching a TAPED show which means she can watch it any bloody time she wants SO WHY MUST SHE WATCH IT NOW?!?!?!

My mother is such a tyrant! TYRANT. Damn pissed with the Dictator!

Wah I am still very pissed. I am seething!!!!

Ian Thorpe is coming to Singapore next month!!!

So exciting!!! He's lending his support for New York's bid for the 2012 Games! So happy! This is like having a prelude to Beijing 2008!!! :) :) :)

Man, I should have volunteered to be one of the helpers at the 117th IOC Session!!! Then maybe I can get up close and personal with him! Hahaha!

Was reading today's Home section when I saw the news! (H10, "Two Swimmers, two camps", 2nd paragraph)
"Superstar Thorpe will be in Singapore next month to back New York's bid."

That, my friends, is the best bit of news I've heard all year!!! OMG I was so excited I wanted to shriek loudly and dance in joy but I was at work. It is rather unbecoming to engage in such behaviour at work especially when I was in full view of everyone who is driving in, so I made do with SMSing. Must spread the joy!

Anybody want to go Thorpe-gazing with me?

Found this!
Ian Thorpe: I’m looking at the 2012 bid coming to New York. I plan to swim until 2008 but if the Olympic Games come to New York in 2012, I will most definitely reconsider retirement. There’s a possibility I may still be around (although I’ll be an old man then!).

---------------------------------------

Anyone has today's episode of Lost? Taped or otherwise, lend it to me please!!! The tape that I used to record has been severely damaged. ~!#$%^&*!!!!!!!! I haven't watched it!!!

Kids nowadays, tsk tsk. My little sis's getting very rude, especially to my father, but she doesn't get chastised the way I did when I was young. So she gets away with bloody murder. If I were to yell at my father/grandma/uncles the way she does I bet my mother would have given me a big lecture.

I walked passed one of the Bukit Timah student's house while rushing off from work to work (yes what a sad life I lead). This kid, he flashed half his butt at me because his pants were too loose. Either that or he didn't wear them properly. Anyway, he saw me walking past his magnificant Bukit Timah house but I didn't see the need to acknowledge his presence because hello I don't know you very well and I don't really care. And so decided to oei me. "Oei. Oeeeeeeeei."
I gave him a I-am-in-a-hurry-you-brat look and went "What?"
"You don't think I don't know you ah." said the butt-flasher pompously.
Wah, spoken like a true 小混混.

After so long I finally dragged my lazy self to the doctor's. The doctor says my lumps are called keloids, which is "a red, raised formation of fibrous scar tissue caused by excessive tissue repair in response to trauma or surgical incision" according to dictionary.com.

Another medical dictionary says keloids are "a sharply elevated, irregularly shaped, progressively enlarging scar due to the formation of excessive amounts of collagen in the corium during connective tissue repair", which sounds even more complicating because I am no medical student. Anyway, I received three bloody injections (or maybe more, I was too freezed up to take note) for the keloids. The doctor said she was going to inject some steroid that would help the keloids shrink. Something like that.

Injections!!! Three in a single sitting! Ouch ouch ouch!!!
I am not that terrified of injections, but I don't love them either!!!

And I have to go back 2 weeks later for her to poke more needles in my back and front! Yikes!

Anyway, I hope the bloody injections work. And hopefully they don't get inflamed.

I asked the doctor why I had these unfortunate but harmless lumps and she couldn't give me an answer because "some people are just more prone to it". Like why some people have more sweat glands (me me) and some people have big hips (me me). I think it's because the oil content in my body is too high. Oily face not enough, now all that oil decide to come together and form some bloody growth that looks like a gigantic red pimple or a BCG scar. My BCG scar is probably a keloid too.

Oil molecule A: Hey fellow Oils! I am so bored! And lonely!
Oil molecule B: I am bored and lonely too!
Oil molecule C: So am I! Let's do something exciting!
Oil moleclue B: Let's group together! Then we'll all feel a sense of belonging!
Oil molecule A: Great idea! Let's form a rock band!
Oil molecule C: Okay! I love music! I shall be the drummer!
Oil molecule B: I shall be the singer!
Oil molecule A: I shall be the guitarist! Oh, what shall we call ourselves?
Oil molecule B: Hmmm, how about Keloid?
Oil molecule C: Wow! Sounds cool! Has such a nice ring to it!
Oil molecule A: We need a place to practice or we'll disturb the oil molecules at stomach and thighs!
Oil molecule C: Yeah that's right. I propose we move to owner's back! There is a large expanse of skin there and we can make a hell lot of noise without disturbing the other oil molecules!
Oil molecule B: Great!! I love the back! Let's make her right back our permanent home!

Years later...

Oil molecule A, B, C, D, E, F, G (because their rock band has grown in size, therefore there are more oil molecules): Oh no!!! What is that sharp steely thing?!
Needle: What? What?
Oil molecules: You!!! What are you doing here?! Interfering with our music-making! Oh, the audacity!
Needle: The owner doesn't like you all residing here. She wants to get rid of you. I'm just here to introduce Steroid to you.
Steroid: Hi oil molecules! I'm Steroid. Nice to meet you!
Oil molecule A: *gasp* You are here to exterminate ussssssss!!!
Steroid: *evil grin* Yes I am!
Oil molecule G: Run for your lives!!!

But before The Oil Molecules managed to drag their fat bulky bodies from their chair, Steroid grabs them all and throttles them to death.

Haha yah. I wish.

Why is it that boyfriends always hold a higher rank than normal friends?
I hear all that "You guys are more important to me! I can't do without my friends!" thing everytime, but but but! Action speaks louder than words!

A friend was supposed to meet me at work so that I can pass her something. Seemed simple enough. The plan was that she came by at around 12, after her lessons, and then I give her the stuff, and she goes off and enjoys the rest of the day.

Then 12pm became "late afternoon, around 3 plus". I tell her that I'm leaving at around 5 or 6pm.

3 plus came, no sign of her. I was leaving at 5.15pm, and thought it would be good to let her know in any case.

At 5pm, no replies from her, still no sign of her. Die lah, where is she? I am going off soon! I decide to call her, and it turns out that's she's at the movies. Her show will only end at 5 plus, and she can't meet me on time. Wah very good. I am not very happy at this point.

So I ask if I can meet her at YCK at around 6pm. She says she can't get there on time, and will drop by my house later on.

After a lot of directions, she calls at 8pm and says she is here. Wah she really took her own sweet time huh.

I go down to the bus stop and the boyfriend is also there. I must say that the boyfriend is also very free, come all the way to Sengkang just for 5 minutes. All this while I am thinking that it really is rather ridiculous and a waste of time (and not to mention transport costs) just to make a detour all the way to my house. And from my point of view, even if it's rather biased, she took advantage of the fact that she knows that I'll be patiently waiting for her because I'm her friend! I am supposed to be understanding, and that she needs to spend time with her boyfriend. I am just a small little fry and I am not as important as her spending time with her boyfriend. Friends can wait, the boyfriend comes first. Watching a movie with the boyfriend is precious time spent together, never mind about the friend who is wondering what happened to you because you did not even bother to send an SMS to tell her that you can't make it by 5pm. Because you know, friends will always be there for you and you know you can count on them. They are dependable. You know they are there, but you never think about them until you need them.

So annoying.

A friend says "Face it la... We are less impt than the boyfriends..."

And to add on to the list of jet-setting people, Ade's also going to Malaysia, the dentist just came back from a holiday, Ms Yeo's not in town, and I hear that Xiaojing is in China... which I only found out minutes ago. From Corinne's blog.

Maybe one day I'll also just disappear off the surface of the earth, and nobody will even know that I'm gone.

Desperate Housewives awaits.

Yay I finally got around pre-ordering Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince on vPost. $40.60 plus free delivery. See my money seep away.
16 July is a Saturday! Okay I am not going to work on that day. Stay at home and wait for my book to come!

Anyway speaking of work, there is this parent whom we call Leong. Leong likes to talk alot. Leong comes in on Saturdays to bring his daughter for her piano lesson and unfortunately he HAS to talk to somebody or he'll get the heegies-beegies or something. And usually there is nobody there to talk to except us, the poor receptionists.

Two weeks ago Leong was exploring the relationship between mathematics and music. Like a good musician will make a good mathematician, blah blah. Today Leong decided to tell me that he changed all the computers and TVs in his house to LCD screens. Okay, Bukit Timah family, damn rich.

Seeing my disinterest in starting a conversation with him, he decided to borrow my copy of the newspaper. Then Leong started exclaiming about an advertisment he spotted in the papers. Digital cordless phone at $59.90! Leong has never seen such a cheap digital cordless phone anywhere else! Leong must get one! Leong calls his friends and they make plans to buy one!

Leong then starts to talk to me about the ridiculous petrol price war. I tell Leong that my family doesn't have a car. "Huh?" Leong goes. "We don't own a car, so we don't buy petrol," I explain patiently. Leong looked as though he could not comprehend the possibilty of someone not owning a car. Leong then goes on to talk about the Baby Bonus. Leong asks me whether I have plans to get married. At first I thought I heard wrongly, because that isn't usually a question I hear very often. Crazy, I only 19 years old leh. Then he tells me to get married early, so that I can enjoy the benefits that the government dishes out.

Leong asks me what is my name. I tell him and he looks stumped, as if remembering a name takes a giant amount of effort. "Do you have a Christian name?" "What is your surname?"
So Leong decides calls me Ms Peh after me spelling out P-E-H for him. "Ms Peh" doesn't sound right coming out from his mouth. Like, "Hey Ms Peh, do you know what is a digital cordless phone?" Sounds a bit salah.

After what seems like an eternity (when it was only 45 minutes or 1 hour I think), Leong's daughter's lesson ended and Leong was engaged in a discussion with the teacher about baby bonuses and bank rates. Thank goodness. I am just not very chatty on Saturdays.

I am free tomorrow! Yes it's a glorious Sunday and I am not going anywhere. My parents and little sister are going to the zoo, and I will be at home watching video tapes. So ironic, I just got my pay, I feel a little bit richer than before, and I feel like not hibernating. Offer lasts for a day only.

Oei, anybody want to watch Meester and Meesus Smeeth?

Seems like this is the season to go away on holidays! Mad and Yanz just came back not too long ago from Thailand and Malaysia, Ade's back from Cambodia, and me from a tiny room. I hear that Sandy's going to Genting next week and Shuhui has a family chalet.

I also want to go somewhere that requires a stamp on my passport!

When was the last time my family went on a holiday? I think it was 3 years ago, when I was still a Year 1 kid in JC. That was to Genting. Family holidays are usually not very ambitious. No fancy-schmancy places that require more than 3 hours of flying in the clouds. Usually my mother's the jet-setting one who went to Vietnam with the neighbourhood RC and Bangkok with her friends while the rest of us rot at home and my little sister misses my mother so.

Anyway, this one, can be considered a holiday lah. Holiday at the Costa Sands Downtown East chalets. Buy 3D2N get 1D1N free. Not bad a deal huh. But IMO spending 4D3N cooped up in a tiny room in Eastern Singapore without the computer is so Boring. There's only so much you can do you know, like cycle, swim, cycle, swim, eat a lot, and maybe walk about. 4D3N too long liao for chalet liao lah.

Oh, unless we are talking about Karaoking till 5am, night-cycling and other unauthorized night activities. That's a different story.

So anyway. There was the mandatory BBQ (how can a chalet be a chalet without a barbeque) with Too Much Food. My poor stomach was as usual trying to perform its wonderful feat of storing all that junk. Satay, chicken wings, 油条, taupok, otah, stingray, sotong, fried bee hoon, prawns, corn, sweet potato, and the crab-that-almost-escaped-from-the-pail-at-3am-but-because-I-am-smart-enough-to-poke-it-back-so-it-did-not-crawl-around-the-house that was roasted alive while jumping on the charcoal. Poor crab.

So we stored the leftover food for yet another BBQ on Day 2.

My little sister also likes to sleeptalk very loudly, turn 180 degrees and kick surrounding objects and/or people. Unfortunately little sis, mom, cousin and me were stuck on the same bed. Equals I have no space to sleep. It is one thing if you have no space to sleep if you're at a chalet with friends, but it is another thing if you are with your family. Little sis kicks Mom who invaded my already squashed bedspace so I assumed a position that had my head on the bed, my butt on the stool and my legs on the table. Blardy uncomfortable. Cannot sleep. Just when I thought I could sleep I was rudely jolted awake by another kick or another shriek. Anyway I think I finally conked out after 5 hours of tossing, turning and shifting positions. It was about 5am I think.

Day 2 saw little sister playing on the beach, cycling and swimming. BTW, the pool there is SUPER SALTY. Methinks a lot of little kids peed in the pool. Euks.

Mom does a "温老师", if you girls remember. (If you cannot go and find the JC1 class photo we took somewhere in the depths of NJC.)

Then BBQ again.

Day 3 was boring in the morning because we didn't know what to do. Ended up watching silly Taiwanese soap operas that Channel 8 airs in the mornings. Like 霹雳火, drama mama. Afternoon was Wild Wild Wet. It rained, but stopped. When I am at Wild Wild Wet the sun doesn't shine.

We went to the arcade at night and banged at a fake drum set. Quite fun, that.

Next day, check out, came home, watched all the taped TV shows that I missed. That was my exciting "holiday". At least it was a break from work. Work can get very boring and routine.

I am quite fond of this picture for some reason. That shapeless thing is my little sis. And she likes to talk rubbish to herself, which is sometimes funny, sometimes annoying.

Boo! Boo! Boo!

Oh boy oh boy. Today I committed a major boo-boo at work. I am hanging my head with shame! Oh the Guilt! The Humiliation! The Shame!

The irate patient's mother was justifiably pissed off gave me a scolding on the phone. I was made to feel about as big as an amoeba.

I'm lucky that I'm not fired. (The Boss does not know about it yet.)

Today I took my Basic Theory Test and it was all nifty and computerized, easy, quick and painless. And I passed!

Ahhh... and tomorrow... tomorrow is the day to rot and slack. No early mornings, no annoying handphone alarm. Finally, a day when I can stay at home all day long.....!

...well, almost. There's work at night. Drats.

Tmr's tuition at abt 2pm.

Anything lor...............

Precise right down to the number of dots (fifteen -- I counted). Wah, don't come and "anything lor" me. You think what, meeting to go to the market to buy fish issit. Even a civil "ok" would suffice. Instead of "Anything lor..............." When you have disinterest staring blatantly back at you in the form of 2 words and 15 dots what do you do? Incorrigible. Incorrigible!

The True You

You want your girlfriend or boyfriend to dress well and take care of him / herself.
With respect to money, you are a bit stingy.
You think good luck doesn't exist - reality is built on practicalities.
The hidden side of your personality tends to be satisfied to care for things with a minimal amount of effort.
You have a tendency to overdo things, but basically you value your friendships highly.
When it comes to finding a romantic partner, you will search and search until you find your perfect match.

Just came home from a wedding dinner. My grandmother's brother's son got married and there are too many of such 某某某 to keep track of so I still don't know who is who. But my Auntie told me that "(我) 越吃越胖". Thanks alot man. Like I need one of those "subtle" reminders. -_____-"

Anyway, relatives have nothing good to say usually. They usually comment that you're fatter/skinner/taller/shorter/more pimply/less pimply etc etc etc and IMO these comments does not serve any purpose except to hinder your self-esteem.

It's about one month since the hols started and I am starting to think that 3 months of holidays isn't exactly that long after all. Soon school will start and we will all upgrade to Year 2s. So sad leh. Then soon 1 semester will fly by and another semester will fly by and 3 months of holidays will fly by and we'll upgrade to Year 3s. Then soon we will graduate. Then soon we will have to start working.
Do I really want to waste that 3 or 4 years of my days as an undergrad doing insipid, boring things daily?

Today I met a very very chatty father at work. He kept going on and on about his big theories and him working in a bank... how's he's a problem-solver and a go-getter... blah blah blah... blah blah blah... I started to tune out after a while. Drats, he'll be back next Saturday and I have to listen to him talk again.
Last Saturday I also met a very chatty grandmother. I think the grandmother is the mother of the father. It's the genes. They're all chatty. The grandmother even told me stuff about her granddaughter that I would not normally consider telling other people within five minutes of meeting them. Yakkity-yak.

Mediocre Results for the Procrastinator

CM1121 BASIC ORGANIC CHEMISTRY - U (as expected)
EL1101E THE NATURE OF LANGUAGE - B-
LAJ1201 JAPANESE 1 - B-
MKT1003 PRINCIPLES OF MARKETING - B-
SSB2216 EMPLOYEE MANAGEMENT IN SINGAPORE - B+
CAP: 3.33

CAP dropped from 3.4 to 3.33, but I can live with that considering that I only started studying for almost all my modules the night before my exam. Heh. Am quite surprised with Employee Management, since I thought my essays were all rubbish. Prof Lau's Top 10 list ruined my chances for Marketing because I bet the whole world spotted topics. :( Dunno what happened to EL, I thought it was my easiest paper. But maybe everyone else thought it was easy too... I never can make it to the upper part of the bell curve, it seems.
Organic Chem was such a waste of time but nevermind, at least it didn't affect my CAP.
Now I've collected 6 B- and 3 B+. Wooohoooooooo!

Although it's the Hermit Season, I went to watch Madagascar yesterday. My uncle's treat. Haha. I never reject treats because I am very cheapskate. Treats defy the Hermit Season! Anyway, it was quite funny, and the four psychotic penguins are so cute. Hahahahaha.

My mother, she has just informed me that she didn't know that a cineplex existed at Plaza Singapura because she has not been there since Yaohan closed down. Methinks it's time for her to go walk around Orchard Road.

It's 2nd June and results are going to be out at 11am but it slipped my mind until today. Good thing I don't have to work tomorrow, so I can stare transfixedly at the screen when 11am comes about (provided that I actually wake up before that). Anyway let's hope all will be well and fine and my CAP will not drop too drastically.

Yay I got my pay for last week, but then I think of all the things that I have to pay for and then I feel very poor again. :(

Work is a bore. A delightful bore, but still a bore. Thank goodness for Hearts, Spider Solitaire, Freecell and Minesweeper. And Windows Media Player for entertaining me. And Harry Potter.
But I get paid to smile at rich taitais, glare at misbehaving kids and stone for the better half of the afternoon. Not bad, not bad.

I now declare that Hermit Season has started!
