I'm peeling horribly and I look as though I have some skin disease.
Help!!!

Can't go to the class BBQ and the stayover at my friend's house now.
Boohoo.

Friday Five again

1. Do you like to shop? Why or why not?
Of course. Retail therapy, minus the aching legs and no money in wallet.

2. What was the last thing you purchased?
Think it was a bright yellow rubber band. I am attracted to bright colours lately.
And Banana Boat!

3. Do you prefer shopping online or at an actual store? Why?
At an actual store. So that I can see the product for myself.

4. Did you get an allowance as a child? How much was it?
In Primary school I got about $5 a week. In Secondary school I got about $15 a week.
Now, I get more, but IMO it's insufficient. Bwhahaha.

5. What was the last thing you regret purchasing?
Lots of money-wasting purchases. (Definitely not Banana Boat)
Ribbons that I never use, hair-clips that I never use, a horizontal-stiped top which I never wear... probably nothing else. Haha.

What's wrong with everyone? Why do they like to sleep on my bed?!
I am fiercely protective about my bed. I do NOT like people sleeping on my bed.

I love the Banana Boat! Woo! It's great! Now my face doesn't feel raw and freshly scrubbed by a scrubbing brush. I can wrinkle my nose without wincing (albeit a little stiff) and at least it doesn't sting when I try to wipe my face. Yay! But my shoulders still hurt. All those little raised pores or whatnot and red, red shoulders. Arrrrggghhh. Nevermind. I shall religiously apply the wonderful Banana Boat 3 times a day and hopefully I won't be a suitable candidate applying for the post of Rudolph the Red-Nosed reindeer by the time Christmas comes. Hahaha.
Everyone! If you are sun-burnt, go and buy Banana Boat! Plugging for this product. Haha. You can get it at Watsons for $10.90 and it's not sticky/oily at all! And you won't look like you have a whole lot of face oil. You won't shine and become a walking mirror. So it's good!

When I was typing out my December calendar, I was thinking about how fast the year has gone by and how it's December already and soon it'll be another brand new year. The nicest part I like about the year is when it's nearing year-end. Usually, it means no school (yay!), unbridled fun, laughter and joy, the holiday and Christmas-sy mood, and a time to look back on the year and smile at happy times. Sort of a conclusion, you know? Most unfortunately, I don't like looking forward to a new year because it means I have to go through everything all over again. (I have weird logic) I don't like changes. Maybe that's why I don't like the new year. I like year-ends!

Haha, when red meets white. (NJ colours?) For a better comparison, look at shoulders. Us on the train.

Maybe when I draw my first salary, I can buy the digital camera over from my uncle. Nah, maybe I can get one myself.

Tomorrow, I shall:
Rot
Play the Sims (haven't played for 2 days)
Apply Banana Boat religiously
Watch taped Holland V, Armed Reaction 3, SARS show, debate, The Bachelor... anything else?
Continue with cross stitch
Amuse myself
Sleep to my heart's content
Hope fervently that my skin heals

1.1. Stupid SATs registration closes at 5pm daily. I got to RELC at 5.05pm (as I missed my stop) and was denied the right to register.
1.2. I have to go down town again to register for my stupid SATs. Gah.

2.1. I still look super sunburnt. And it hurts dreadfully. I felt like a glowing lightbulb/red traffic light for the whole day. Anyway, I bought this Banana Boat Aloe Vera gel, hope it works. The Body Shop one that I saw was good, but it costs $26. Too bad my birthday's over.
2.2. I think my scalp is burnt too.
2.3. I am never going to swim for at least a month.
2.4. I shall cycle or jog instead.
2.5. Please hope and pray that my skin heals by next Friday.

3.1. I miss St. Nicks!!!
3.2. and the 2001 batch!
3.3. and the school song!
3.4. and the student's pledge!
3.5. and the family dance!
3.6. and xiao zhang and her motherly-ness!
3.7. and the orange bowl!
3.8. and everything else! Ahhh!!!!

4. I have been out way too much. I need to stay at home and rot.

5. Gillian's on her way to Australia (that lucky girl).

6.1. One of my aunties have decided that she doesn't have enough money to pay me to tutor her P3 son.
6.2. I am wondering if that is a convenient excuse not to hire me as she may doubt my teaching ability.

7.1. WHAT kind of stupid ending was that?!
7.2. for Holland V I mean.

8.1. I need to meet up with old friends.
8.2. but I'm super broke.
8.3. Sigh.

OK enough with the points. Went out with Ichee today to look for Prom stuff. I feel like rejecting all going-out requests and locking myself at home for one week to recuperate and to hide my glowing face from public scrutiny. Haha maybe I will. Next next week or something. :)
Oh but that defeats the purpose, doesn't it, as my face won't be lobster-red anymore (queer how lobster-red is used to describe a colour. Why not red-rose-red or hongbao-red or... something-else-red?) But at least I get to rot at home and spend some quality ME time which is what I'm lacking currently. ME time! I need ME time!

And my poor Sim! It's now a monster and I'm extremely distressed. Can't seem to find anyway to revert it back to a Sim. It's the father of the family! And now it's a monster! How can?!

I love the Banana Boat thing. Hahaha. It's better than Johnsen's Baby Lotion (not so oily) and it has a nicer smell. Whee! Good investment made. Consumer loyalty for you!

My mom's nagging at me to bathe. More later!~

I am sunburnt. Badly.
Ahhhh! How am I supposed to attend my sister's graduation with a red-lobster face?
And the burnt skin stings. Ouch ouch ouch!!!
Especially when I apply baby lotion. Double ouch!!!
I haven't been sunburnt in such a bad way for a very long time (even at OBS it wasn't as bad as this)
Sharks. Should have applied some anti-sun thing yesterday while at the Jurong pool. Bah.
I am disfigured!!! (actually not, but I need to rant)

I went for the 少年阿虎 premiere yesterday. You know what? Vanness Wu actually appeared. GAD. Arrrrrggggghhhhh so wasted. Didn't bring camera! But even if I did I doubt I'll be able to take any quality pictures because it was so dark and there were alot of fangirls in front snapping away furiously and he looked about 50cm tall from where I sat. Hai.
The movie was quite funny. But I think it's due to the fact that his fans had very big reactions to whatever that happened on screen. They would like, gasp when he was being beaten up, shout encouraging comments, scream whenever he appeared, cheer when he did something right, shush at others if they were making too much noise or if a phone beeped, laugh at everything (even if I didn't found it funny) and remark about anything under the sun (in this case, it's about the movie). Really, I think everyone should have an experience watching a movie with such massive fan clubs who are so enthusiastic about the movie. Their enthusiasm rubbed off and it made the whole screening experience a rather enjoyable one. But the ending was super stupid yeah. @_@

OK. Need to check directions on how to go to RELC. Going to register for SATs later before meeting my friends and then going for my sister's grad. Hahaha. So long.

Also, I located the damn ant nest that has been residing in the study room and managed to (hopefully) exterminate the entire ant nest. It was soooo disgusting but due to the wonders of insecticide + the wonderful investment my parents made, it wasn't too bad.
If I ever live on my own, the first thing I do will be to buy the water-based vacuum cleaner. It's such a wonderful piece of equipment. IMO, every household should have one! :) Hahaha.

And secondly, my uncle has free tickets to the movie Star Runner premiere on Wednesday night. It's the movie starring Vanness Wu of F4. I hereby state that I am not a groupie even though I have nothing against them. It's the FOC factor lah. Hahaha. My my, I'm such a cheapo.

Life's great! I'm a happy girl :)

Feels good not to be worrying about studying and simply enjoying life. The only thorn in this otherwise perfect way of living is probably the SATs, but I'll worry about that one month later.

Besides slacking at home, I did manage to pack my table, dump all my tutorials and misc. stuff and my sec 4 textbooks which I have been hoarding in the storeroom, go back on memory lane by digging out my piano examination books from Grade 2 all the way to Grade 8 and playing those exam pieces (and realizing how awful I sound -- can't even play the simplest pieces properly -- makes me wonder how I managed to pass my piano exams), play The Sims (getting hooked!) and get started on my Winnie the Pooh cross stitch which I have been doing for almost a year. Hahaha.

Went for my little sister's kindergarten concert on Sunday, it got quite boring in the middle while the K2 kids performed a very lengthy version of The Wizard of Oz (too much curtain-drawing IMO), and watching my little sister shake her booty on stage. Vivacious kids, they are. I remember as a kid my sister's age, I was so much more reticent. Always so shy, quiet and reserved. I think those were probably the most commonly used adjectives used to describe me. Hahaha. Actually, kids can be quite cute and endearing (can't believe I'm actually typing this) with such a wonderful innocent and angelic charm around them, BUT they are highly annoying and irritating 99% of the time.

Roamed Orchard today with Sandy in search for Mabel's present. We're planning another extravaganza on Wednesday; however it's really no fun when it's always and only both of us and especially for certain activities, it's the more the merrier. Sigh. But of course, the A levels only end on Thursday for pro-Physics people and I'm awaiting eagerly for the time to come when we all can have fun. Together. Really, ending early may not be good because... there's no fun in planning outings and activities for just 2 people.

Had a very intensive SMS conversation with Saint just now; am wondering about stuff. Anyway, it's time for another bitchy-fest. Haven't had a good chat with Saint via the good ol' telephone.

BTW, haven't mentioned this but I got coerced into giving my cousins (plural) tuition. Sigh. I can't teach for nuts. And my aunties want me to coach them in English, Maths and Science? What am I? Wonderwoman with superbrains?! (Being the oldest cousin who has attained a so-called general higher level of education does suck so.) Being a tutor is not good. You have to deal with the parentals and also the kids, who may not end up listening to you. (plus I hate kids) And I have to help them shop for assessment books. And it'll be so super embarrassing if I can't produce results. Sigh. So now, twice a week, I have to troop down to their houses and teach a P3-er and a P5-er English, Maths and Science. I am dead. *crosses eyes*
And NO, it is not easy money to earn. Ahhhh!!!

But seriously, I am doing this for the money (mercenary as it may sound) because... well I'm really broke (as usual). I bet I have to spend my first (!) salary, my hard-earned money repaying my debts. My SMS bills, the money I owe Gillian, the $10 I owe my sister... bah!

I am trying not to be an impulsive shopper or an over-spender who can't resist temptation. Really.

Anyways, Selamat Hari Raya!~

The Friday Five

1. List five things you'd like to accomplish by the end of the year.
Have fun, earn money, register for SATs, go shopping with friends and cherish time spent with them and attain a higher level of HTML skills. And perhaps brush up my piano skills too. And lose weight.

2. List five people you've lost contact with that you'd like to hear from again.
My ex-tuition teacher, primary school classmates, secondary school classmates, my cello teacher, etc.

3. List five things you'd like to learn how to do.
Learn how to bake a proper cheesecake, learn how to drive, learn some sporting activity, learn how to teach my cousins, learn how to play the guitar/clarinet/flute/etc.

4. List five things you'd do if you won the lottery (no limit).
Buy a big house, a Beetle (the car), go on an unlimited shopping spree, treat everyone to a big feast and stash away enough money for retirement. And get everything on the list to the right. Haha.

5. List five things you do that help you relax.
Playing The Sims, surfing the net, listening to music, reading, watching TV, banging on the piano, slacking, sleeping... blah³... the list goes on.

BTW, the Horroscope thingee below describes my baby sister very accurately. It's almost irrefutable. Woah.

Went for the Metro Beauty and Fashion workshop today, courtesy of my lovely friends. :) It wasn't that bad, we had a talk about body shapes and how to choose a prom dress that would flatter your body. And then a makeup talk which I didn't really find useful because I know zilch about makeup. And then this games session where each table would have to dress one of their team mates up and do their makeup. We drew lots, and unfortunately I was made the guniea pig. -_-" Anyway, I had to put on this red gown but it was too tight for me (I have a big tummy) so I changed into something black instead and my face became a painting canvas for the others to slather makeup on. Hahahaha. All in the good name of fun. I think I looked pretty horrible because (a) I do not much of an eyebrow to speak of, (b) I kept blinking whenever some make-up brush came close to my eye or eyelid, which made putting on eyeshadow, mascara and especially using the eyelash curler a real torture, (natural reflexes, explains my adamance about contact lenses), and (c) all of them who painted my face, so to speak, did not have any prior experience in this sort of thing. Yup. So I thought I looked pretty weird but they said the colours were too light. Anyway, I have decided that I like the Stila lip glaze. It's a really nice product but it costs $42!!!! !!! !!!

Went to walk around town after that. Window browsing only, as my mother thinks that I shouldn't spend her money since I'm not even working. Sigh.

And I finally got to go and eat my beloved 花生胡!!! Am very happy. It was yummy! Deeelicious! Drool-worthy! It's at Chinatown, Temple Street. (Haha, free advertising) I am going back to eat it again someday.

So that sort of marks the end of my day. Off to play The Sims! Darn, I'm getting hooked all over again and I gotta rise and shine early tomorrow to go support my little sister at the kindergarten concert.

Good night world. :)

I am a Scorpio.
(Also known as "Scorpion")
My Horroscope starts like this:
" Scorpios are highly dangerous, even at a distance. They cheat and lie, live for intrigue, and take pleasure in destroying. " (Read more | Find yours)

Here's what they say about Scorpios:

"Scorpios are highly dangerous, even at a distance. They cheat and lie, live for intrigue, and take pleasure in destroying.
Pathological sadists and masochists simultaneously, they will not find any means too low or dishonorable if it can aid in reaching their goals.

Going to great lengths, they will strive to create a positive image of themselves, just so they can backstab an opponent when he least expects it.

Their career is built on the bodies of their more scrupulous victims. If a Scorpio just told you how much he values your friendship, be certain he has already ratted you out to the boss in an attempt to curry favor.

Scorpios are famous for their affinity to dirty jokes and cheap porno movies. They will spread rumors about their sexual conquests, cruelly smearing anyone unlucky enough to be involved with them."

---------

My, my. How terrifyingly evil. I assure you that I'm not as evil as depicted. Although I'm a Scorpio. Hahahaha.

The Jeremy Monteiro Christmas concert really does come with a piece of fruit cake and a drink!!!
!!! !!! !!!!!
Goodness. I thought Sze Hsien was kidding when she told me that. Hahahaha. Anyway, I'm going for that concert. :)

Ahhh! I forgot what was the tittle of the Josh Groban song I saw on TV today. Sigh. "You XXXXX something something something". Sigh.

Went to search for cross stitch with Sandy to celebrate the End of Exams. :) She bought a very beautiful scenic cross stitch which is really HUGE. I think she'll take at least 6 months to finish it. Hahaha.

We went to town, had lunch, and walked around, since it was still nice and early. I need to do some shopping. Whoopee. I am waiting for the day I get purchasing power! Bwhahaha. After deciding that both of us lack serious sleep, we went back home and I snoozed till 7pm. Yay. Life's good.

Corinne and Xiuhui won the Seventeen Prom contest thingee, and it comes with a makeup set and free attendance to this makeup workshop or something. But they have to study for Physics. So I get to go with my sister. :) Yay! Thank you! Erm, anyway, I'm looking forward to next week. There are so many things planned! Busy busy busy!!! :)

Meanwhile, I'm going to clear my table + files + books + notes + everything tomorrow. Whoopee.

Yay, Chem 3 is over. 100 marks, 2h 45mins and 10 questions. I think I'll probably scrap a pass (i.e. 50/100).

Been busy cramming Chem for the past few days.
Mugged till 6am last night and slept all the way till 11am before blurrily dragging myself to school. I actually finished Food Chem (but in the end I couldn't really answer the questions posed) and I thought my Organic Chem foundation was quite firm but guess what. Couldn't do that stupid question 7 at all. Gah.

I get the feeling that I'm being a wee lil' bit too complacent about Chemistry. Now I'm left with the Chem MCQ paper and I have no idea how to study for that because all year long I've been doing MCQs for tuition. And I'm simply just too lazy to re-do all of them. And complacency kicks in -- I feel like I can deal with MCQ rather competently.

Sigh. Bottom line: I'm just plain old lazy.

Exams are not even officially over and I'm already feeling bored.
I'm weird.

Been watching alot of TV lately. Darn, how come all the good shows are broadcasted now? Take for example, a typical Monday night for me will start from 7pm, in front of the TV, to 11.45pm, still in front of the TV.

False hopes, false hopes. That's it. I've been giving myself false hope. I hope I can face reality come March next year.

I'm bored. Need to inject some excitement in my life. Friendster's getting boring too. Apart from getting in touch with a long-long-long lost Pri 1-3 classmate, and spotting a few other Primary school classmates... it's quite *yawn*.

I miss OBS. I shall say it once more: I miss OBS.
There are certain things that you will never forget, and they are firmly etched into your memories. This is one of them.

Randomness

i. My mother's on leave till tomorrow. Sigh. Mom at home = bad news.
ii. I feel that people are turned off by my seemingly cold exterior.
iii. I dislike change.
iv. I shall put on my smiley face earrings on Thursday. Smile!! Smileeee!!! :D (Hello again, delirium.)
v. I hear thunder! :)

    Water
You are water. You're not really organic; you're
neither acidic nor basic, yet you're an acid
and a base at the same time. You're strong
willed and opinionated, but relaxed and ready
to flow. So while you often seem worthless,
without you, everything would just not work.
People should definitely drink more of you
    every day.

Does anyone think that this week has been super slow? I always get the feeling that the days are uber-long and slow-moving. Long days, long nights, coupled with notes and the midnight oil... @_@

I'm so glad that a big portion of the exams are over. It felt so satisfying when I striked off the examination dates one by one on the calendar. Ahhhhh.

Maths was alright. GP wasn't good. I felt that I could have done better -- if I was given more time to think. The AQ was a disaster. Econs spells T-e-r-r-i-b-l-e. All 3 papers are really badly done. Chem... I dunno. Need to study hard for Paper 3. Sigh. Where can I go or do if I only have 2 A level passes? I think I have a faint chance of getting even a C for Econs. Sigh.

Oh, and er... this is super embarassing. But I overslept and woke up extremely late on the day of Maths Paper 2. With only half an hour to get to school on time, I thought I couldn't make it but luckily with the help of the very chatty taxi uncle, I managed to hop out of the cab, sprint all the way across the track, run up the stairs and run to the classroom, finally bursting into the classroom huffing and panting and feeling as though my legs would give way and my lungs would burst (NOTE TO SELF: need to exercise more. I'm such an unfit being). I plonked myself at my seat, and barely 1 minute later the invigilator said that we could start. Felt very terrible and woozy, all the blood was rushing to my feet and my hand was trembling. Took in deep breaths and tried to calm myself down, but then I was feeling very very woozy (but luckily I was still able to think) and my heart beat took one whole hour to go back to normal. Bleah. And my legs started cramping whenever I tried to cross my legs. Bleah. As I said, I'm such a terrribly unfit person. I hereby resolve to exercise more after the exams.

Yay 2 more papers to go. Now I need to think, talk, eat and breathe Chem. Good luck everyone!

None really. I like most stuff that others like. Erm, I eat rice, noodles... ah-ha!! Veggies... I eat alot of veggies... and also erm, shellfish?

    2. What food do you hate that most people love?
I used to hate sushi but now I'm fine with it. Walnut soup? Gingko nuts? Beansprouts? Semi-raw garlic?

    3. What famous person, whom many people may find attractive, is most unappealing to you?
I really don't know. Who does everyone like? Britney Spears?

    4. What famous person, whom many people may find unappealing, do you find attractive?
    Who? Ian Thorpe?

    5. What popular trend baffles you?
    Studying.

WHAT is wrong with Blogger? It's taking an awfully long time to load. Reminds me of the time when I was still using my old computer and I couldn't blog at all because Blogger refuses to load. Bah.

OK. The thrill of being 18 is over. I managed to get out of the house today, due to a sushi treat from my uncle. :) And I received lots of birthday SMSes so thank you to all those who bothered to remember and took the effort to make my day a happy one :) And I pigged out quite alot today -- ice cream, sushi, pizza, birthday cake. Hmmm.

My uncle has a very nice phone; the Sony-Ericsson T610. Very nice design.

I received a birthday card from my Primary School friend today. So nice of her, she actually drew a picture of me that really looked like me (when I was in Pri 6). Hahaha. It is times like this that I feel that taking the effort to mantain this friendship is worth it.

I hear my baby sister talking in her constipated voice in her sleep again. @_@

Blogger is revealing itself bit by bit now. My computer connection is very slow. Booooo.

Time to morph into mugger mode? Yeah.

    I've been 18 for 3.5 hours.

Today was the last day of school. This concludes 12 long years of education. I will never sit in the same class with all my classmates, staring drowsily at the whiteboard and nodding off into deep slumber while my Econs teacher's voice drones in the background. Anyway, more than half the class are on self-applied study break so the next time I will see the class as a whole will be during the A levels.

I received some presents today from my friends; they're so nice, they bought me The Sims Hot Date which I have been coveting for quite some time. :) I forsee that my after-exams entertainment will be The Sims, The Sims and The Sims. Besides that they actually followed everything dutifully on my "Wishlist" that I scribbled hastily in Xiaojing's notebook during Econs lecture. So now I have very cute purple tortoise earrings, a new file, a new wallet, and a not-so-new pencil box. :) Yay. Thank you everyone. :) I appreciate you all coming all the way to school just to sing me a birthday song :)

I slept through 12 midnight; darn, I wanted to be awake at the stroke when I turned 18. Cheap thrill lah. Anyway, having a birthday that falls near major exams is quite a bummer. Nobody bothers to remember because everyone's preoccupied with their own stuff, like worrying whether they can get 4As or fretting over the amount of work to study. Nah, I shan't fall into such a trap. Birthday or not, I will still take time off to look at the world around me, and not subject my life to nothing but studying. Like my 16th birthday, my 18th birthday is boring and predictable.

Will you feel sad if friends that you care about, especially really really good friends forget your birthday?

Tried to clear my phone's inbox today. Haha, I actually kept SMSes from a year ago till now. Was deciding whether I should delete them away. On one hand, it's the sentimental value (and I'm a big sentimental freak) and on the other hand, nothing will last forever, and it's taking up space in my inbox. So I decided to be heartless and delete them away. Have you ever faced a situation like this?

Felt so relieved when I found out that Chem paper 2 was first, not Chem paper 3. Yay. So I have more time to study for Food Chem. Yayyyyy. But Maths and Econs.............................

I feel very mixed up today. Need to clear my thoughts and enjoy my birthday while rotting at home and maybe studying. Ah well. No one said life was easy. I can always celebrate my 18th + 1 month birthday next month. :)

Happy Birthday to meeeeeeeeeeeee! :) Lalalalalalalala :)
