The Hockey boys lost to RJC 2-1. Normally I wouldn't have given it a second thought, but since my whole class was supposed to go down to go to Delta Sports Complex to cheer for the team, I felt a bit sad for them because I felt that it was quite wasted... you'll only feel a sudden pang or a sudden surge of emotion when you are actually at the actual scene of things. But nevertheless, I think they fought quite hard. That's all that matters lah.

Had the Track and Field meet today. The standard of cheerleading really makes me want to cringe. Their cheers are *mumble grumble*, their stunts are so-so, always involving light-as-a-feather girls standing on the hands of strong guys and falling down into their arms, and the dances are really... Cannot make it!!! Argh!!! *cringe* I was standing at the specs stand watching the cheerleading performances, supposedly the "highlight" of the day, but really, Ignis was the first team and they were already a flop, dances were not well-rehearsed and uncoordinated, the formations were too messy and too many people were involved, (too many cooks spoil the broth) and generally, it was very bad. I'm not well qualified enough to be a cheerleading judge or something, but after 4 years of being in SN, where there has been a very high standard of such performances, I think I'm "brainwashed" to think that SN's cheerleading is the best. Yep. Don't you all agree? Heh. I miss my school's cheerleading. Over here, it's more of the pom-pom dances where people just act cute and perky. Eurgh. What happened to the youth, the vitality, the zest? Not everyone looked as though they enjoyed what they were doing, and I think that was the biggest problem.

Enough about cheerleading. It was disappointing, overall. And the sports day was rather mundane, and honestly I'm surprised that we actually managed to get second position overall. If Blue house got 2nd I'll be very disappointed, but for Ignis, I felt rather incredulous. Haha.

Tests! Tests! and More Tests! Ahhh!

Spent a good portion of the afternoon in front of the computer, experimenting with Adobe Photoshop brushes. Ah! So cool. I'm itching to make something.

According to our resident String Orch spies, ACJC's playing is very very good, their cello section has a great player, they have a very good concermaster, their violins are of better standard than ours, and on the whole, they are more together than us. This is trs terrible! :(

Anyway, I'll be having my first tuition session with the new tuition teacher tomorrow. Yay. Shall go and do my HW and study Organic Chemistry. Byee.

Took this quiz again, they added new schools to the list of possible results, but there's still no SN!!! Sigh.

In school now, typing away aimlessly in the school library. I feel like sleeping. I shall go settle myself at a table and sleep till the "temperature taking" bell rings. Hope the libarian won't chase me out.

The reason why I'm in the library instead of the String Orch room (which is where I usually go during my free periods) is because it's a very HOT day and I came here in hope of air-con. Also, temperature taking would be held in the libaray for us wanderers who don't have lessons during this period.

Ruben Studdard is the new American Idol!

My friends and I agreed that Clay sang well during Econs lecture... well anyway, I thought Clay would win but he strikes me as a very fake person now. And both of them would get recording deals so I don't see what's the difference anyway.

Ate so much ice-cream over the past 2 days. Ugh. And I'm going to a kiddy party later. Haha. It's a long story. Anyway, I think it would be exciting tonight. Bwhahahaha. I'm looking forward to it!!!! :)

I think I shall go take my nap now. It's already 12noon. The bell's ringing in 20 mins time! Sigh.

Finals of American Idol today! Yay! After this week, I don't have to waste anymore unnecessary time watching TV, since The Bachelor ended yesterday too. I think Clay Aiken will win. Haha. But it's quite a tough fight between the two lah.

We had Exco interview for the 9 or so juniors that planned to run for Exco yesterday. Prepared a list of questions for them, but I didn't fully utilize the list. I typed a long paragraph about the exco and how I feel, but I decided that it was too long and naggy and so to cut a long story short, I will miss my Treasurer post and managing the treasury, and all those annoying meetings that they always like to hold on the spur of the moment. And all the times we spent laughing at each other, the times sweating it out for Talentime, and now SYF.
And to my future direct junior -- whoever you are, you will be in for an exciting adventure. It's not as slack as it seems. :) Bwhahaha.

Got a comment that I'm very organized. Very cool and calm. Never flustered. I'm the calmest of the five of us. I would love to quote what they said exactly but I can't remember. Anyway, my calmess is the reason why so many juniors are eyeing my post. Because I make it seem so easy. Bwhahaha. The cool and calm exterior is just a facade. I like to be happy-go-lucky and carefree. Hence I don't really bother nor feel about stuff. I think I'm perfectly happy this way.

My mother has decided to do something about my horrendous results and engaged a Chemistry tutor for me. She's an undergraduate, a mere 2 or 3 years older than me, and our first lesson would be this Sunday.

Met the principal on Tuesday, it went quite smoothly. She meets students with results as horrendous as mine in batches of 10, so together with 9 others, we were sitting quietly and still in the Meeting Room while she reminded us that time was running out. Had to write a letter to her and in it I stated that I would take my Chemistry revision seriously. I think I should honour my promise and start revising Alkenes.

Anyhow, I've got a terrible Essay Plan to do for GP, trs, trs sucky. :(

I think I should take a nap first. Haha. Adios.

I am sooo glad that College Day is over. Yay!!!

We played OK today. I think. I'm glad that they've decided to be merciful for once and spare us rehearsals for a week. :) But there's still Exco elections on Wednesday though. Sigh. Thought I could go home early for once. Nevermind. Hope the grilling will be fun. :) 5 potential treasurer-wannabes are running for my post. Five! To think last year I got the post by default (coz I was the only one left that wanted the post). Highly coveted, this treasurer post, and extremely exciting, the elections. I feel honoured. I must have done a very good job. Because they want to emulate me. Bwhahahaha. *ego boost*

Nah. Maybe I'm so incompetent that they want to overthrow me and show me who's the boss. Sigh.

On a side note: My classmates gave me a stalk/stem of rose (?) today, for College Day. It's so incredibly sweet of them. *beams* I never expected such a sweet, touching gesture but nevertheless, I was pleasantly surprised and immensely happy and pleased. :) All for a school function! Anyway, I like the colour of the flower. Deep, blood red. Very nice. I hope it doesn't wilt so soon. Flowers never last. Sigh.

Lots of homework await me. Whee! Exciting. -_-

I'm perspiring immediately after my bath! In cold water, no less. -_- The heat is unbearable! Is it just me or is it the weather? It's the weather right?! What has happened to the cool temperatures of Dec/Jan?!
I hope this terrible, unbearable heat goes off soon, come June. Before we all die of heatstroke. Isn't June supposed to be the hottest month of the year or something? If it's this hot in May, I can't imagine what'll be like next month.

A recap of my week

1. I had a very filling Mom's day breakfast at Macs. *burp*
2. I broke 4 test tubes. The total number of casualties to date (in this case, test tubes) now stands at 6. At this rate, I think I need to buy a whole carton of test tubes if I'm going to smash at least 1 a week.
3. I lost my pink hairband. Stupid, careless me.
4. Finally got silver for that silly Physical Fitness test. Ecstatic.
5. Tuesday was Zombie day. Eyelids were drooping and I fell asleep promptly in every lecture and tutorial.
6. Monday's practice with Chan was kinda productive. At least we sound not bad.
7. The week's been filled with College Day rehearsals. :(
8. I hate the school blazer.
9. I managed to spend a minimal amount of money this week.
10. The amount to study for Maths CT in June is horrendous.
11. Next Tues is doomsday.
12. Tiring week.
13. There may be a resident ghost in my study room.
14. College Day in less than 24 hours. Bah.

Was typing happily at the computer yesterday about the food issue that I forgot to rant about another issue that has been bothering me.

The phone calls issue. Here goes.

To my parents, I do not see why both of you have to screen my phone calls especially when the person on the phone is of another gender. (They generally leave my female friends alone, except for a few unfortunate times when Gillian had the luck to have a nice "chat" with my mother.) And I do not see why you both have to interrogate me to ask me who the other person on the line is, what is his purpose of calling etc. Excuse me, I happen to study in a co-ed school, if you haven't noticed by now, and half the school is swarming with guys. If you want me to severe all contact with the other species, I mean gender, then you might as well send me to a nunnery.

And recently, I noticed my mother has been trying to drop hints not-so-subtly when she sees stuff like "online chatting thus leading to rape" kind of shows or asking outright what I would do if I encounter a flasher. Or she likes to ask me random questions like how many guys there are in my class. Like, HUH?! Considering that I have managed to live till 17 without any emotional scars or incidents, I think I'm rather sensible and I will not meet strangers just from some random chat online, I will not be so stupid and get myself hurt, I will take good care of myself, thank you very much. I know you mean well, but after waiting till I'm 17 to give me sex education, isn't that a tad too late? And I've found out whatever I need to without your help anyway.

And it's not just this once, I remember another incident when my sister wasn't at home and some guy called to look for her, and my father was oh-so-paranoid and told my mother and my mother in turn asked me if I knew the identity of this mysterious fellow who actually had the audacity to call. (I'm exaggerating slightly here) Hello, it can be just an innocent Primary school classmate trying to reach her for a gathering right?! And there was once when I called home and my mother heard a guy's voice in the background and immediately demanded to know who was that. It was just a senior in the background talking!!! Ugh. It's so like, sheesh, I don't know how to put it. But aren't you all being overly protective and paranoid about this whole thing?

And if you all are worried that I'm going to get entangled in some relationship behind your back, you are worrying for nothing. I am not going to get involved in anything, and my greatest ambition in life is to be a swingin' bachelorette living THE life without having to worry about the husband and the kids. And in any event that I do happen to get married, I do not want to have kids. NO KIDS!!! I detest them. Gah.

Two of my SO juniors got to the couple stage very quickly. And I realized that the year 1s have a lot of scandals. My my. *makes tsk-ing noise* Back in our time, we didn't even lead such exciting lives. Now the most exciting thing on the agenda is to tease Shuhui about Mr Muack. Hee.

Oh. And I finally passed my NAFPA test. After three tries. Whew. My standing broad jump and finally decided not to fail me. 165cm! I am immensely grateful and glad for that. And I improved on my other items also, after the 2nd time. If my SBJ didn't get a D, I would have gotten gold. (Yeah, finally, after 11 years of schooling.) But heck! I don't care. I'm just so glad that I got that stupid silver.

Maybe the stone jumping helped, haha.

But like what my friend said, I don't think one's fitness level is measured by how far you can jump. And this test is rather stupid, in my opinion. So yeah. I don't really mind getting into remedial anyway. And it's silly, all JC students MUST get silver (I think), so bronze isn't even considered a pass. So they might as well abolish the bronze right. In Mr Manon's words, "Bronze is not a precious metal. Gold and silver are precious metals, so you should get gold or silver."

Rant alert!!!

Two things that I detest and hate: FOOD SNOBS and people who waste perfectly fine, eatable food.

A food snob is a person who turns up his/her nose at perfectly fine, eatable food just because their taste buds are not accustomed to food like rice and veggies and the such. More often than not, these people are rich, spoilt kids who probably ate MacDonalds 3 times a day during their childhood.

And, I do not see what's so wrong with school food. Tell me what you find revolting in this combination: rice, baked beans, green veggies and chicken. Quite a balanced meal, and the food isn't that bad. I mean, even for school food, I find it perfectly fine. And school food does not necessarily equal to bad food right?

However, a bunch of food snobs do not appreciate what they have on the table, what they actually get to eat, and end up wasting $2. I do not mean to sound like I'm preaching, but don't they know that in many third world countries people are starving and possibly dying from malnutrition and hunger, and they would gladly have that packet of rice to fill their stomachs?! Talk about wasting food. Some just declare that they are not going to eat such rubbish food, or after taking a few measly bites, announce that the food is damn bad, when I don't even find anything wrong with it. I seriously wonder what they eat at home. Gold eggs and silver chickens? @_@ At least appreciate the fact that the auntie had to rush to help pack the food in order to fill your stomachs. All you ungrateful, selfish people.

What makes me more pissed is that some people can actually stomach a cup of bubble tea and yam cake even when she said that she is full. What?! You are full and after declaring that "There's no way I can eat this" you go off to buy bubble tea?! And you know that we are supposed to have dinner in school yet you go to Sakae and stuff yourselves choke full and let the food go to waste. And I am pissed not because of this, but more because they are my good friends.

After ranting to Gillian (I was cursing all those food wasters, saying some pretty harsh things) I felt a bit better. Hey, at least 4 or 5 packets of food were untouched! Not even opened! And I know they were all complaining about how bad the food was. Well, grow up and live with it!!! Life isn't a bed of roses ok. And I most certainly didn't choose those "rubbish food". I was just trying to get my job done. I seriously wonder whether the guys will starve when they go for NS.

Am getting more pissed. I don't see why you have to react so violently to hawker food. Some of the best food come from hawker centres! And not everyone is as rich as you all are to dine at places like Marche, HRC, Sakae, and what have you all the time.

And since you didn't like the choice of dinner yesterday, I specially asked what you would like to have tomorrow. What right do you have to get pissed?! Excuse me, I was just asking for your opinion and if you don't want to contribute, fine! There's no need to act so cold and distant and irritated. You are not the only one who is entittled to anger. I'm so sick of your PMS-ing.

And tomorrow, I have to trot all the way down to KAP after school to place orders for those people with "high-class" taste buds. Seems like eating MacDonalds would appease them. I don't even know why I care. But since they paid up I have no right to cheat them of their money and I shall deliver taste-bud friendly burgers and fries to them. I feel like a waitress.

I sound pretty harsh, but I was seriously pissed off on Wednesday and because I didn't want them to give each other knowing looks and ask "are you alright" questions, I had to act happy and preppy. Because, oh, Si Yi is always good-natured and never gets angry. I refuse to lose control over such a minor thing.

And then, there's this issue about my civics tutor. My class girls (esp the bunch that I'm rather close to) seem to hate him alot. When I don't think he's that bad. If they think he's bad, wait till they see TSW or something. Now that's what I term bad. And my civics/chem tutor isn't that bad a teacher, (at least better than last year's) and I feel that as a teacher, you most certainly can't be too lenient, nor too strict. He is just doing his job, and of course he has the right to tick us off when we are in the wrong. Either they are too sensitive, or I am too dense. They think that he is prejudiced against them. I think they are just making a mountain out of a molehill. I was just commenting that I haven't done my Energetics revision exercise and they were giving each other a look, which I didn't know what message was conveyed through those eyes and I'm not interested to know either.
Honestly, listening to them bitch about him the other day, I had to roll my eyes and refrain from making any comments while they were happily having their bitch-fest. Goodness. The teachers that they have encountered back then must have been saints or something. Aren't all teachers like that?

Or maybe I'm just too naive and take things for what they are without looking deeper beyond the surface.

I don't know if what I'm doing is right, but from an objective point of view (I've been trying to see things from a most objective point as possible) I think both parties are at fault, and there's a serious miscommunication which resulted in even greater misunderstandings and misconceptions.
I hope I didn't leak out anything unintentionally.
But all I wanted to do was to help resolve conflicts lah.

Seems like this whole -thing- is making everyone frustrated.

I am "the stong and silent listener", quote unquote.

Enneagram
free enneagram test

(The Schizoid and Dependent Personality Disorders)
The easy-going, self-effacing type. Nines are accepting, trusting, and stable. They are usually creative, optimistic, and supportive, but can also be too willing to go along with others to keep the peace. They want everything to go smoothly and be without conflict, but they can also tend to be complacent, simplifying problems and minimizing anything upsetting. They typically have problems with inertia and stubbornness. At their Best: indomitable and all-embracing, they are able to bring people together and heal conflicts.

Basic Fear: Of loss and separation
Basic Desire: To have inner stability "peace of mind"

Profile Summary for the Enneagram Type Nine

Healthy: Deeply receptive, accepting, unselfconscious, emotionally stable and serene at least usually, haha. Trusting of self and others, at ease with self and life, innocent and simple. Patient, unpretentious, good-natured, genuinely nice people *ahem*. / Optimistic, reassuring, supportive: have a healing and calming influence harmonizing groups, bringing people together: a good mediator, synthesizer, and communicator.
At Their Best: Become self-possessed, feeling autonomous and fulfilled: have great equanimity and contentment because they are present to themselves. Paradoxically, at one with self, and thus able to form more profound relationships. Intensely alive, fully connected to self and others.

Average: Fear conflicts, so become self-effacing and accommodating, idealizing others and "going along" with their wishes, saying "yes" to things they do not really want to do. Fall into conventional roles and expectations. Use philosophies and stock sayings to deflect others./ Active, but disengaged, unreflective, and inattentive. Do not want to be affected, so become unresponsive and complacent, walking away from problems, and "sweeping them under the rug." Thinking becomes hazy and ruminative, mostly comforting fantasies, as they begin to "tune out" reality, becoming oblivious. Emotionally indolent, unwillingness to exert self or to focus on problems: indifference. / Begin to minimize problems, to appease others and to have "peace at any price." Stubborn, fatalistic, and resigned, as if nothing could be done to change anything. Into wishful thinking, and magical solutions. Others frustrated and angry by their procrastination and unresponsiveness.

Unhealthy: Can be highly repressed, undeveloped, and ineffectual. Feel incapable of facing problems: become obstinate, dissociating self from all conflicts. Neglectful and dangerous to others. /Wanting to block out of awareness anything that could affect them, they dissociate so much that they eventually cannot function: numb, depersonalized. / They finally become severely disoriented and catatonic, abandoning themselves, turning into shattered shells. Multiple personalities possible.

Key Motivations: Want to create harmony in their environment, to avoid conflicts and tension, to preserve things as they are, to resist whatever would upset or disturb them.

A small bit that I found rather true for myself:
Exercise frequently to become more aware of your body and emotions. (Some Nines run around doing errands and think that they are getting enough exercise.) Regular exercise is a healthy form of self-discipline and will increase your awareness of your feelings and other sensations. Developing body-awareness will help teach you to concentrate and focus your attention in other areas of your life as well. Exercise is also a good way to get in touch with and express some aggressions.

I run for the bus and I think I'm doing enough exercise for a day. :)

***

College Day rehearsal tomorrow! It's going to be quite a waste of time (I think).

Had a very aggressive and exciting exco meeting today, was mostly watching the two of them argue while we looked on. Well, at least we got to thrash things out. Another meeting scheduled for tomorrow. At this rate, we're going to need a lot of meetings.
Mostly worried about our juniors though. They're the batch with a lot of attitude problems and the such. With SYF coming up and all...

Oh, and we got a half day today for 3 consecutive Golds and top 5 positions for the Finals in SYF for Choir, Band and Chinese Orchestra. Woohoo!!! I most certainly didn't expect it. Top 5 positions and Gold! I thought NJ's musical scene wasn't that good, but anyway, I suppose hard work and perserverance paid off. We are highly stressed now. Getting a Silver come July will most certainly pale in comparison.
Anyway, the half day started at 2pm so I only got to miss Econs tutorial. :) Better than nothing.

Got a new phone today! An old model, but nevertheless it's still functioning well and proper, unlike the old one who likes to hang frequently and the battery runs out in a day when I charged it the day before. But it can't store a massive amount of messages so I had to clear a few of the messages that I've been keeping for months. :( Sentimental value, some of them have.

Forgot to bring my wallet to school. :( Was absolutely penniless and EZ-link cardless. The bus came when I just got to the bus stop, so I just boarded it and started searching in my bag for my wallet to pay the fare, and horror of horrors! It wasn't in my bag. Called home to make sure that my wallet was lying safely on my table and got a mild lecture from my mother. So I didn't pay for that bus ride and I had to sneak up 74 because I didn't have money to pay for my fare, and worried throughout the bus ride, hoping that no bus conductor would board the bus. Managed to doze off before I reached school though. And I wasn't late. Yay. After a 6 day late streak! :) I told my friend about my sad, sad state and told her I was some kind of illegal immigrant, hitching free bus rides to school and she laughed her head off. -_- I do give out funny vibes, don't I? It's extremely characteristic of me to pull of something like that, I guess.

Anyway, my nice friends kindly lent me money so that I won't starve and I won't have to walk home from school. :) The importance of friends. :)

I mustn't be so absentminded again.

Had a really sucky Chem test today. Organic Chem is fun to learn, but not fun to remember. If you get what I mean. And I should have started on the later chapters like Nitrogen Compounds instead of re-learning Alkanes. Bah. Stupid me. I predict! I will get 5/30! Woohoo!!!

Am eating like a rabbit now. A healthy salad. Munching on leafy greens, crunchy carrots and an assortment of various fruits and veggies. Hmmm... never knew mangoes and apples taste so nice together!

On a downloading spree, downloading MTVs and video clips and whatnots. I have a list of classical pieces that I wish to download:
1. Eine Kline Natchmusik
2. Air on G by Bach
3. Pachelbel's Canon in D (boring cello part, but delightful sounding melodies)
4. Mozart's Symphony No. 40 in G minor
5. Mozart's Piano Concerto in A major, (I think) K488
6. Beethoven's 5th!
7. That Pathetique Piano Sonata... never knew what it was called. Have to go check my piano books.
8. Other long lost tuneful and majestic MEP pieces that I've heard.
9. Tchaikovsky's 4th!
10. Oh, and Fanstasie Impromptu
11. That darn SYF piece *scowl* Brandenburg 3rd

Can't recall what other MP3s I had in my old computer, but it was very limited. Shall now expand my collection! Whoopee!!!

Oooh! I recognize this song! That "My Memory" from Winter Sonata! It's playing on 93.3FM now. But it's in Chinese. The original was in Korean or something.

Oh, I think I wanted to say that I was hungry. Haha.
OK. I'm hungry. :)

Mozart!!!!! Where can I download Symphony No. 40?!

Was trying to find quizes to do but there aren't anything interesting. I wanted to do this "What Chinese Character Are You" quiz that I saw on my sister's blog but somehow it has disappeared.

iMesh is so lousy! I can't find Mozart's Symphony No. 40 in G Minor. Yes, the very exact terrible piece that was the bane of all MEP students. The stupid piece where we had to practically memorize the modulations and fancy stuff that Mozart threw into the piece. And probably the very piece that cost me my A1 for the subject. :( Grr.
Just felt like listening to it again and following the score while the music is being played. I had the piece in my old computer but now I can find it anywhere! Gah.

I wanted to say something else, but I forgot. Oh well.

Happy Labour Day!
