I was never one to ignore these sort of space-fillers, wahaha... and since Yanz put this up...

10 years ago I...
was in Pri 5? Yep that's correct. I was pimply and had a hairstyle that would follow me for the next x years.

5 years ago I...
probably knew that it was O level year but not worrying about it yet. Oh wow was that 5 years ago already?

1 year ago I...
became an unwilling pet owner.

Yesterday I...
was at home scrubbing the floor, cleaning the toilet, vacuuming the mattresses, changing the sheets, ate till I almost exploded and celebrating my mom's birthday.

Five foods I enjoy:
This is hard because I enjoy eating a lot of food. Erm, durians!

Five songs I know all the words to:
七里香, 搁浅, 屋顶, all the usual KTV songs.

Five places I would run away to:
Korea, Australia (to find Mr. Thorpe), Paris, Tokyo, and some place where I can get charmed off my feet. And the snow will fall and I will dance around in the field. LOL.

Five favourite television shows:
The Amazing Race, Project Runway, the Detective Investigation Files Hongkong show, Desperate Housewives, Lost.

Five bad habits:
Being lazy and procrastinating, watching too much TV, sleeping too late and waking too late, burping and not saying excuse me, picking at my toenails

Five biggest joys:
Hamsterrrrrrrr (because he/she is so cute), going to the ATM and feeling rich, going crazy at KTV and destroying all eardrums within 10 metres, having a great time with my friends and eating good food.

Five people who need to do this quiz:
Do it if you need a space-filler like me! :)

I bought new stuff for Hamster the other day! And I feel so happy buying stuff for Hamster even though like I said, I have to support it on my meagre pay...

This week's going to be great because my IT tutorial and Developmental Psychology lecture are cancelled! Yeehah!

Happy Chinese New Year!!!

Dammit, my nose is still blocked. It's blocked on and off, and I still have to honk into tissue periodically. Will my nose drop off from the hard blowing? Will my eardrums burst from the pressure???

After avoiding 8am lessons at all costs, my EL group has decided to have our weekly discussion group meetings at -- yes, EIGHT AM!!! Dammit! *gives them all a nasty look*

I now officially declare, I hate mornings. Bah!

Whoop-dee-doop! I can now breathe! Ahhh.. the importance of breathing freely without a whole lot of mucus blocking your airways.

Sigh. The past week has been quite horrible. I now have no 4-day week coz of stupid stupid stupid tutorial balloting and Tuesdays and Thursdays will mean going back to school for only 2 hours and wasting my time. And I have a 9am class. Eurgh. I hate 9am classes.

And my nose was producing copious amounts of thick, gooey yellow mucus. Lots and lots of mucus. It was quite horrible, coz I would be honking into a tissue and spreading germs all around the LT. I felt like ripping out my lungs/windpipe/gullet/whatever-that-is and pumping out all the mucus. Disgusting. And my ears were blocked coz I suppose I blew my nose too hard. With the blocked nose, runny nose, sorethroat, and a mild cough, it was time to visit the doc and so I popped into the doc's room on Friday during work and I dispensed my own medicine to myself. Wahahaha. It's a interesting situation, don't you think?

To top off the horrible week, I banged my right thumb twice in two days. Hurts like hell. The first time it got caught in between the shower doors. The second time someone slammed the drawer on my thumb. Ouch.

I haven't Mapled as often as usual.. I think this time I can significantly cut down on my precious hours spent on the game. Yay! SUCCESS after 3 months. Hahaha.

I hate kids!!!

I was looking forward to a nice nap on the train on my way home from school today... but it didn't materialize because of noisy, boisterous, annoying KIDS.

This little boy and little girl boarded the train at Chinatown with their grandma and mother... wahlao, then they started using the grabpoles to twirl around and ran about the carriage and made SO MUCH NOISE that I couldn't sleep! GRRRRR! What's worse, they kept jumping up and down the vacant seat beside me! I was so close to shooting them Dirty Looks but while my head was reeling with all the ideas that I have to exterminate them I decided to rearrange my face to potray a look of calm... wahahaha.

I'd kick them out of the carriage if I could... IMO kids should be seen and not heard! Er well I was a rather seen and not heard kid myself... and I am sounding like a tyrant... but I do feel like a evil witch, much like those in The Witches book by Roald Dahl, whose mission is to get rid of all the little children in the world. All those annoying gits! I have ZERO patience with naughty children and I just want to smack them hard everytime they piss me off. Just like I have ZERO patience with my little sister, who can be really annoying when she wants to. Gah!!!!! You'd think that I'll be more immune to their irritatingness having lived with one for almost 8 years... but NO! I think I'm even more tuned to their irritatingness!!!

Dammit I think I sound like a crazy, evil, psychotic witch... hmmm... hey I think I am!

Wahaha, be wary of unconcerned and taciturn people, for who knows what Deep Dark Thoughts are rippling through their evil minds...

I am so annoyed at tutorial balloting! I can NEVER EVER get all my desired tutorial slots. BOOOOOO you stupid CORS.

Sigh, and we're not going to have steamboat for this year's reunion dinner. The steamboat dinner is my favourite part of the entire CNY holiday! Bah, now there's nothing to look forward to!!! :(

Update update. I passed my driving test on Saturday! I can now drive legally! Honk honk honk!

Anyway, I got a super chao bin examiner who looked like he couldn't wait to get out of the car. He was super impatient and sullen looking and seemed kinda disappointed that he couldn't find more mistakes to fault me on. Well actually I almost banged into a taxi while trying to lane change but luckily he didn't take out his checklist and start ticking.

Then during the debrief he was saying "Your driving is still not very good." Not very encouraging words right! Then he complained about my filter lanes, complained about my wide turns, complained about me stopping unnecessarily at the "Give Way" line, complained about my insufficient acceleration in the circuit and while doing the courses, and complained that I didn't do my safety checks while doing parallel parking.

I felt like arguing with him (how to accelerate while doing S-courses and stuff?!) but anyway I decided not to jeopardize my chances of passing.

Sullen examiner gave me a sour look. "Your first time taking test?"

Me: "Yah."

Sullen examiner wrote 16 in the checkbox, and circled "Passed".

"Go counter." And he disappeared.

Stupid examiner.

But anyhow I passed! Yeehah!!!

And on to other news, Hamster is getting Fat. Or rather, Hamster IS Fat. I brought Hamster out for a walk around my living room, and it was wobbling around shaking its butt. Poor Hamster needs more exercise!

Speaking of exercise, I managed to go for a jog after weeks and months of inactivity! I feel healthy wahahahaha. :D

I hate it when I board either 143 or 30 and then moments later bus 10 comes behind from nowhere and overtakes the bus I am on. GRRRRRRRRRR. It's even worse when TWO of bus 10 overtake my crawling bus (which was what happened today). Then I gotta walk a long way in and climb a horrendous amount of steps to get to my destination. And therefore I was 5 mins late when I could have been 5 mins early if I took the first bus 10 that overtook me! Stupid bus 10!

Today I experienced an exemplary driving lesson! Almost no major mistakes made, and everything was smooth smooth smooth, save for the slight drizzle. Now I am more confident of passing... at least more confident than I was on Monday with that "You have SERIOUS PROBLEMS" dude.

And I was looking at IVLE... *gasp choke wheeze!* Look at the workload! I spotted a couple of group projects and presentations, and a few papers to write. And I dropped TS1101E for EL2111 -- hope I made a wise decision because it seems rather cheem to me now that I read the module outline in detail. :(

After my rather boring lecture I went to collect the stats paper that I was struggling with last semester! And lo and behold! I see a C+. Which means I must have done fairly well for my exam to get a B overall. I must say that I feel quite proud of myself, hurhurhur. :D

Hmm but on the other hand, maybe everyone else did badly. Which is probably how I could achieve a B. That sounds like a more reasonable explanation, does it not? Haha!

It is too early for me to fall asleep. But I have to sleep! Else I won't be able to wake up tomorrow.
I've been awake for what, barely 12 hours?

Luckily for WEBCASTS!!! I can now squeeze in two more revision lessons from now till Saturday.

I shall go and read my archives, maybe boring entries of my boring life will bore me so much that I will feel sleepy.

I managed to get TS1101E for 1 point, but having second thoughts now... Firstly, the lecture's at 9am (and I hate waking up bright and early) and secondly, I won't get my 4-day week. Think I'll try for EL2111 on Wednesday.

Had my 4th revision lesson today, and it went badly as usual. Wahlao, I think I should never ever drive on the roads even if I get a valid licence. My lane-changing sucks! My turns are too wide! I am just too unobservant to be placed behind a steering wheel. Plus it was raining today. Which made me drive ten times worse. The instructor for today told me, "You have some serious problems." Wah...!!! SERIOUS PROBLEMS man. How to pass my test like that?!

So... next time I cannot drive when it's raining, cannot drive when it's at night and cannot lane-change.

PLEASE LET IT BE BRIGHT AND SUNNY ON SATURDAY. PLEASE LET THERE BE MINIMAL TRAFFIC. *crosses fingers and toes*

Caught this show on TV today about managing finances. It was very amusing, because their tagline goes something like this: 省钱有理, 小气无罪. Or something.

Anyhow, the show reminded me of myself! :)
Me, who records every single cent spent and tabulates monthly expenditure records.
Me, who obsesses whenever my expenditure exceeds my income.
Me, who keeps receipts of purchases and transactions whenever possible.
Me, who used to hoard a lot of cash in my Primary school days.
Me, who is rather stingy with my hard-earned cash.
I am just rather fastidious that way.
Okay, so why do I feel so broke now? That doesn't make much sense! I should be rolling in wealth!

It's been raining the whole day long. I had to drag myself out of bed after barely 3 hours of sleep to go to work. On such a nice, rainy, cool Sunday that's perfect for sleeping till 2pm. GRRRRR!!!

And I don't feel like school's gonna start soon. Still in slacker mode. All my Maple kakis are slowly weaning themselves from Maple, so now it's rather sian to play. And I must remember to appear in school for my lecture on Wednesday. I have a feeling I might just oversleep.

I just had a very exciting hour playing Maple!

We followed two pros to kill Jr. Balrog!!! And I died twice!!! Damn exciting, except that most of the time I was using Dark Sight which allows me to be invisible and I didn't kill anything. Hahahaha. Wah but the damage is incredible! My Dark Sight wore off and Jr. Balrog touched me and I died! Even though my HP was full! The 2nd time I kena magic attack and died coz Dark Sight cannot withstand magic attack. Hahaha. (If you do not play Maple Story you can skip this paragraph.)

Did you see the trailers? Desperate Housewives season 2 is coming soon!

Aaaaand... I managed to bid for IT1001 Introduction to Computing (!!!) which I hope will not be like a repeat of the disasterous Organic Chemistry. -___-"
And after numerous rounds of bidding and complaining, I now have 3 Psych modules, 1 EL module and IT1001. Next week, Round 3a, and I'll be going in search for my 6th module!

It would be rather abnormal of me not to complain about bidding... and yes it's been rather annoying trying to decide what modules to take (especially since I've left the task of sourcing for modules to the very last minute) plus I realized that my friend can't take PL2132 (that's a stats module) with me! Gasp, moan, groan.

And I got outbidded for my Science GEM. So now we're back to square one. NOTHING TO TAKE. The bad news is that I need 6 modules and I only have 3 now.

On the plus side, at least the servers are not acting all wonky like last semester. Last semester's bidding period was a truly Tearing-Hair-Out experience which will be discussed with much fondness in later years to come... heh heh heh.

I've been reading plenty of reflective blog posts recently... these posts always appear in huge amounts whenever the year's ending. So I think about how my year went by and hmmm... it was bland. No event or day stood out in my mind. Bland, bland bland bland bland.

My mom said we might not be able to go CNY visiting because of my grandfather's passing. But of course she has to ask the elders and see if it's allowed. Hmm, I mustn't get my hopes too high yet...

I got home at 12 midnight today, and while I was fumbling with my keys I heard the distant shouts of "5... 4... 3... 2... 1...!!!" around the blocks of flats. I suppose quite a few people are having their own countdown party.

Spent a quiet evening at Empress's house Mapling and talking rubbish. And looking at old photos, which were hilarious, because everyone didn't look like what they are now! Ah, those secondary school days where everyone looked horrible and wore specs (most upgraded to contacts soon after, except me). And drinking some yucky tasting thing. Ah ha, I can't even stop Mapling when I'm not at home. I am such a horrible git.

So, Happy New Year everybody. :)
