My last day at the clinic.

Even though it sucks up my evenings and makes it difficult for me to schedule meet-ups sometimes, even though I've been waiting for the day that I can finally quit for a long time now, even though sometimes I dislike the incessant chatter in the form of my colleague, I think I will miss the job. A little.

Really can't find another job that is so relaxing elsewhere!

My computer has been throwing unwelcome tantrums and acting up recently. GRRRR. On Friday night it only decided to boot up only at 2am after repeated attempts to restart it. FRIDAY NIGHT! When I don't have sleep earlier and can afford the luxury zoning out in front of the computer! And it only decides to work at 2am! Bleah.

Today the Black Screen syndrome appeared again and I had to restart it like 5 times before it decided to be good and cooperate. Silly machine. It's going bonkers! It's infested with Spyware and goodness knows what else. And there's always some system error. Stupid system error.

In recent news, there has been some drama going on at the clinic. Well not exactly drama drama, more like miscommunication. I'm finally ending my part-time job! Just 2 weeks short of 3 years at the job! Wow. Seems like such a long time, 3 years. I can't even see myself at my current full-time job for 3 years. I just hope to survive past my probation period and we'll see how it goes from there.

Anyway back to my part-time job. My current job status is kind of hazy and vague, because I wasn't fired, and neither did I resign. It's just... 不了了之 with no complete closure and things left unspoken. But my last day is on Tuesday. In Edison Chen's words, it's a "strange, strange situation". This resulted in my mom having lots of phone calls with our colleagues in hushed tones and discussing the finer points of this "strange, strange situation". Basically they're gossiping lah, haha. So the bottom line is, I will be extremely broke till the end of March because that's when my pay is coming in.

Full-time job wise, one of my colleagues is leaving this Friday and it means she only has 2 weeks to impart 27 years of knowledge to newbie me. *gulp* I am going to be so screwed next Monday. And I still don't know a lot of people in my department. And there are no young people around!!! :(

Things to look forward to in my life now:
- Payday!
- The Good Friday public holiday
- Coming home to spazz over Shinhwa videos (the Tokyo Concert last year - of which I attended the Shanghai leg - is total LOVE! Ahhh.. it's my epitome of happiness. XD I'm re-entering a floodgate of memories, the heady rush, the excitement, the adrenaline! Omo, and the crowd in Tokyo! O_o Amazing! It's a lot better watching them from the comfort of my chair than craning my neck to catch a glimpse of their tiny faces. And it would have been better if they added in all the bits when they interacted with the fans, but I shall not be greedy. Waiting for the DVD!)

And sigh, it's Monday already? :(

Day 2 isn't that much better. Was trying really hard to fight the Z-monster by 11am. I need to sleep earlier.

And because a blog is a public platform, I have to practise some self-censorship when blogging about work-related stuff. I don't want the Company to sue me or something if I happen to post something inappropriate so I can't be too explicit. But basically I am a high-class errand girl in my department with an atas sounding designation. The rest of the details, ask me when you see me.

I don't have much time left to catch up on my fandom by the time I get to sit back and relax in front of my computer but at least I know this - Shinhwa's Japan concert is going to be postponed till further notice, due to "high production fees". Haha. Well if I am ever cuckoo enough to go, at least it gives me more time to save for it. :D

The first day of the rest of my life...

... was a very very long day. I was too sleepy to function at optimal capacity. There are too many names and faces for me to remember. And I had almost forgotten how much I hate those morning commutes during my JC days, especially at the Marymount/Lornie Road stretch. UGH! TRAFFIC JAMS! >___< *growl*

Today is my last day as a jobless bum. Tomorrow marks a brand new chapter of my life as I join the ranks of the workforce, and have to contribute to the economy, pay taxes, slave my life away, among other equally grown-up sounding things...

Terrifying. u____u

I know this day will come eventually but I wish it didn't have to start so soon. :( The worst part is having to adapt to and function in the +8 GMT timezone. SIGH. No more of keeping late nights. And hello to waking up at unearthly hours.

I'm super nervous about starting work! I don't know what to expect. I feel like a greenhorn. I AM a greenhorn. Will I have nice colleagues? Will I be able to handle whatever that comes my way? Will I be able to survive on my wardrobe of T-shirts and jeans?

I am so unambitious and so not career-minded, I don't even know what I am planning for the next 5 or 10 years of my life. Hence the shitty feeling escalates.

I sound extremely negative about this because I'm reluctant to close the slacker chapter of my life. I think everyone else is more excited about me finally landing a job than I am. Sigh. Nothing much I can do now except to continue living my life and hope I don't screw up. Himnaesaeyo~ Hwaiting!

And in other less exciting news, I stir-fried a small plate of chye sim today! Woohoo! I can cook vege now. Haha.

I see that Eric has finally gotten a new haircut! Thank goodness. This haircut is way overdue. He was starting to look very cui. And the new hair looks good.

Haha I am now obsessing about their HAIR. But it was Eric's birthday so I don't care, that gives me a legit reason to obsess. LOL. Happy birthday to the ET leader! 생일 축하해~ They (RicMinWanSung) are now 29 (30 in Korean age), the silly dorks. :)

Played mahjong today! Yay we finally have another hobby besides KTV. :)

I don't want the weekend to be over. :(

It's Valentine's Day! Oh correction, it was Valentine's Day. And I'm in love... with Minu's new song! "Just One More Night". Yum! *floats*

I spent Vday sleeping till late and then going out for a hot date with my equally single best girl pal. Dinner was very awkward and we couldn't speak freely because we were kind of too close for comfort with this other couple sitting at the adjacent table! The tables were at most a few inches apart and I felt like I was intruding into the couple's private space or something. It's the I-am-blatantly-eavesdropping-but-pretending-not-to situation. Haha. And the very odd thing is I actually know one half of the couple from dinosaur years back, but being the unfriendly person I am, I didn't bother to say hi. So on top of the eavesdropping is the pretending-not-to-know-each-other thing. Double awkwardness!!! Hahaha.

Oh well. Happy (belated) Valentine's Day! :) Back to my lovely jazzy mellow song and the six hot men to fill any void in my heart. HAHA. :)

OMG I just saw this.
[08.02.12] [News] Shinhwa's last concert in Apr at Budokan before army enlistment

Korean pop group Shinhwa who has generated a new Hallyu wave in Japan will be holding their last concert before enlistment at Japan's Budokan, the Holy Grail of concert venues.

OpenWorld Entertainment, which manages Shinhwa's overseas concerts, said that Shinhwa will be holding a concert over 2 days on 18/19 April at Japan's Budokan. This will be part of the 10th anniversary activities, and at the same time act as the encore concert to the concert held last December. 《2007 JAPAN TOUR — SHINHWA FOREVER》 was held at Nagoya and Saitama in December 2007.

Blah blah blah the article goes on...

DUDES. You can't do this to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
Hmmm APRIL. April 18/19th. *心痒痒*

WHY do they spoil their Japanese fans so?! Why is it that the Japanese fans get all the goodies?! What happened to the December concerts in Nagoya/Saitama/Shanghai being the last overseas concerts before they enlist? WHAT IS THIS?! I feel cheated!

You guys might as well just have another Asian tour and COME TO SINGAPORE!

I want to live in Japan. ㅠ.ㅠ

They are dangerous. Now they've planted the thought of me going to Japan in April. RAWR. Dangerous. They're messing with my logical self. They need to be packed in a crate labeled "TOXIC & POISONOUS" and shipped to Antarctica. Wahlao.

No I can't decide whether I'm pissed that Japanese fans are getting all the icing on the cake or happy that I have another shot at attending their concert. Excuse my childish rant.

Darn. It seems like my days of sleeping late and waking later are coming to an end. :(
I must chiong all the stuff that I want to watch now.

And the only K-variety show that I watch every week is now cancelled. BUMMER. I really enjoy watching Suju in Exploration of the Human Body. It's super funny.

This clip seriously rocks. :) Even if the teacher is a bit freaky.
感触很多!

I was back in NUS last Tuesday to get a copy of my academic transcript. I MISS GOING TO SCHOOL! I even felt unusual fondness towards doing projects and battling deadlines at that point of time. Attending lectures, tutorials, rushing for classes or walking around the familiar buildings... I was so happy to masquerade as a student even if it was only for that short period of time. The only thing I don't miss is step-climbing. Oh but walking around campus and climbing steps make up the bulk of my cardio activity. Dang.

I thought CNY this year wasn't too bad. Definitely not as fruitful as last year's angbao takings but still enough for me to pay off my insurance premium. I played some blackjack, managed to do my once-a-year-driving practice without killing my entire family (but still can't park), ate quite a bit, vegged out on people's sofa sets and didn't have to entertain too many nosy questions. Not too bad as CNYs go.
It was only on 初四 when my extended family came over that I was really really bored, because my cousins took over our computers and the study room and I was left stoning in the living room, listening to my relatives gossip about one of my 堂叔's China bride. Invasion of the relatives.
I don't like people coming over, I'd rather go to other people's houses.

So... I'm still watching Sex and the City and I think Miranda needs a haircut. I can't stand Carrie's screams. And I'm rewatching Love Letter again to make myself happy. Shinhwa never fails to crack me up. :)

Bored at home on 年初三 because I chose to sleep in and catch up on my sleep instead of going out to 拜年. No food for dinner and my arms and butt are aching. Goodness knows why.

Hai shall just watch TV then. My Girl is showing on Channel U!

And I finally finished 公主小妹! A waste of 13 hours of my life.

I was watching this part of 公主小妹 and I thought it was utterly hilarious and stupid. It's the most illogical show I've ever watched! Somebody. Please hire a better scriptwriter.

Scene 1:
The male lead is on his speedboat, in the middle of the sea, pondering about issues and thinking about why he should let the girl he likes get engaged to another guy.

Scene 2:
He realizes that he is the foolish one - he likes the girl and therefore should do something about it.

Scene 3:
He starts the engine of his speedboat but HORROR, it refuses to start. He's stranded in the middle of the sea. He needs to rush back to stop the engagement party!!!

Meanwhile, various scenes of the girl waiting for him to appear at the engagement party flashes by...

Scene 4:
So what does he do? HE JUMPS INTO THE SEA AND SWIMS BACK TO SHORE.
HAHAHA damn stupid lah. SERIOUSLY.

Scene 5:
He somehow managed to swim himself back to shore (wow he must have gills or something) and dripping wet, he RUNS ALL THE WAY BACK to the mansion. Which I assume is damn far away. Maybe he's an ironman athlete in disguise.

Scene 6:
He is late. He drags himself into the ballroom to find that the engagement party is over.
The guy whom the girl was supposed to get engaged to appeared to tell him that they didn't get engaged after all. -____-;;;

Haha very trashy and quite funny in the OMG what the hell?!?! kind of way. It's like watching "手足" with its lame plot lines and enjoying the mocking of the show.

***

There was a column in Monday's Life! section where this male journalist ranted about his hatred for Jay Chou. I found it rather amusing since I happened to be in the company of 3 excited girls and their boyfriends during the weekend after Jay Chou's birthday concert in Singapore. And all 4 of us girls attended Jay Chou's concert in either Singapore or Hong Kong (or both), so most notably we were talking about Jay, Jay, Jay and gushing about how close they were to him at the SG concert. The poor boyfriends, I noticed, were rather disinterested in our Jay Chou talk. Hahaha. Can't exactly blame them, since I think the sufferers of the Post Jay Concert Disorder have a tendency to rave about him for at least a week after the concert.

I totally get it from a fangirl's point of view. :)

And so even if I'm not going to be in Seoul physically on the 29th, I'm all geared up for their 10th anniversary! I AM THERE IN SPIRIT with an orange glowstick, shouting Shinhwa Jjang. Haha.

I'm watching both Sex and the City and 公主小妹 concurrently. That's what taking up the bulk of my nights... watching tudou.

Allow me to say that 公主小妹's plot is just plain ludicrous. Okay, granted that it's frivolous and whimsical because it's a romantic fantasy kind of show, but the acting is horrible and the logic behind their actions is really incomprehensible. Plus I really cannot stand the 彩 guy and his acting. So why am I still watching it?! Haha. I don't know either. It looked interesting enough for the first few parts that I watched but then it got progressively sillier. But I am still at episode 5 so hopefully it'll redeem itself later on!

My cough is back and it's kind of sian. Last night I had a bad sorethroat and my ear hurt whenever I swallow. I hope I recover before CNY so that I can eat all the CNY goodies.

Felt decidedly 八卦 enough to google about the big sex scandal that's happening now in the Hong Kong entertainment industry! The Edison Chen and Gillian Chung photos issue.

Haha I feel a bit traumatized.
