My voice is going going gone (KTVed) and today I submitted the form for the local SEP even though there is a high probability that I won't get it. But at least I tried, hm?
Anyway I was back in school for a short while today and I don't think I've ever seen NUS so sparsely populated before. Empty benches everywhere! An almost deserted Forum! Only a few humans spotted studying (special sem folks?) and a few others spotted doing some orientation stuff. It was funnily quiet.
Freaking sleepy, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Got a lot of TV shows to catch up on. And I need some nice new shoes.
Today felt so boring in contrast to the past two exciting Saturdays that I've had.
Anyway, I'm thinking of getting a bigger cage for Hamster to run about in. Hamster's getting a big butt and she wobbles around. She needs some exercise and not sleep the whole day. Or maybe I should put this on a Presents to Get for my Birthday list. Dunno if Hamster can wait for that long though.
Presents to Get for my Birthday
1. A bigger hamster cage for Hamster. With bars please, so that Hamster can be an acrobat.
Haha I will start thinking of items now and add them to my list over the months because I know it's very sian to think of what to get for other people for their birthdays. I am saving you guys brain power! :)
My mom's nagging at me to get a job. But hey, I think my current life is pretty good... I don't spend money by staying at home! I only eat essentially one meal a day (coz I wake up at 4pm) and I get to indulge in a fantasy world with Rain and Song Hye Kyo (rewatching it now) and when I feel like stabbing something I go on Maple and kill some fireboars. My uncle loaned us his DVD player and a set of 大长今 DVDs so I forsee more hours spent in front of the google box. And I've got the new Janet Evanovich book to read! It's called Eleven on Top and it's about Stephanie Plum, this ex-bounty hunter. And it's Hilarious! Woohoo!
Meanwhile I am trying not to think about the complications of declaring a shared major because it makes my head spin. Sigh.

The depressing moment of truth:
Crap, my results seem to get worse and worse each semester. This is my worst semester ever! So depressing... My CAP has dropped to abysmal levels, I have a freaking ugly D+ on my grade transcript and I cannot apply for the Local University Student Exchange Program! (I was thinking of applying to do a partial exchange in SMU next sem.) Rawrrr!!!
At least I am not majoring in English. Because it is definitely not my calling. Stupid EL2101... I know I wrote some pretty rubbishy things (and I missed a test) but D+?! D+!? Can't you at least give me a C?! A C is better than a frigging D+! At least I can apply for the blardy exchange especially when applying for an overseas one is pretty much out of the question! I shall stab you to death with a fork. *stab*
I must have been seriously disillusioned during the exam period, because I thought I did okay for EL2111 and the ridiculously easy IT1001. Like last semester I felt horrible after my Language and Cognitive Psych paper and I knew I would probably get some bad result and I did. But I truly felt okay after completing my EL2111 paper and I ended up with another C+! But it goes to show that there are smarter people around and that my standard of "okay" is probably equivalent to "lousy" or "very bad". Stupid bell curve. I shall stab you to death with a fork too. *stab*
Maybe I should just change my single major to a shared major... Dunno, have been considering that for the past few days. Shared majors can't do honours, like I would be able to do honours anyway, look at my disasterous CAP! *snort* HOW! Do I do a shared major in Psych and New Media? Decisions, decisions...
Man, what a depressing day... I don't even feel happy thinking about Full House now! I wanted to watch it again but I think I shouldn't let my bad mood ruin my good impression of the show. GRRRRRRR.

What have I been doing?! The discs have been lying on the table for months waiting for me to watch it!!! But haha better late than never, and everybody should go and watch FULL HOUSE! It's super nice!
*heart*
And the new place in Maple (Ludibrium) is out! I've said it before but I'll say it again, I'm so glad it's the holidays now!!! :)
FULL HOUSE! I like Rain when he does that silly smile of his. Wahahahaha super corny!

I had a really interesting weekend!
Procrastination is the thief of time! Why do I say that? Because I had 2 weeks after exams to do my special present but as usual, procrastinated and started only like 3 days before Saturday? Wahaha, but I must give myself some credit, at least I started 3 days before and not the day before! :D And I must give myself more credit, coz I developed the photos 4 days before and not wait till Thursday or something then come and panic! Haha! Plus, I bought the book 1.5 weeks before the big day! Hmm, maybe I didn't procrastinate so much after all! :D

The making of my special present!!!
But I did the bulk of the work on Friday night/Saturday morning even though I started my first few pages on Wednesday night coz on Thursday I discovered youtube.com and started watching MTVs and Guess Guess Guess episodes on youtube. And the episode where A-Ya leaves is so sad, but I shall not digress. Yup so after cutting/pasting/more cutting/more pasting and lots of editing on the very lousy Windows Movie Maker (coz it crashed twice and I didn't save my work!) and frustration at some movie format converter I finally finished everything and packaged it nicely and hit the bed at 8am. That reminds me of my exam days...
After some snoozing and Hamster time and packing, it was off to Raffles Town Club where Gillian was holding her 21st birthday celebrations. I didn't take a picture of my finalized product after I finished it but here it is:

It looks nicer inside! :)
So it was another night of bridge (beer mixed with Sprite tastes surprisingly not bad), mahjong games, loud singing, Hard Gay watching and general revelry.

Happy 21st Birthday Gillian!

Where we had a steamboat buffet dinner
The next day we went to Geylang to eat 豆浆油条. I don't have the picture of the 豆浆油条, but it tastes quite good! The sweet taste of the 豆花 and the salty taste of the 油条 complement each other quite nicely. The mee sua tastes even better! *drool* I'm getting hungry thinking about it now. And I thought 豆浆 is soyabean curd, but it's actually soyabean milk. But I think soyabean curd goes better with the dough fritters so I should call them 豆花油条 instead. Yum! I love soyabean curd. :D
どうも~!ハードゲイです!フウ~!!!セイ!セイ!セイ!
Hard Gay!!!
Thank goodness it's the holidays, else I'd never have the time to finish my special present (which was one of the factors that I took into consideration when planning), or watch spend time watching Hard Gay, or wasting time in general! And now I'm going to go watch Full House (after some prodding from Ade) and borrow my uncle's 大长今 DVDs to watch! Eh heh heh heh, isn't it great that it's the holidays? HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO~!
And what a long entry, HOOOOOOOO~!

Yesterday was a very exciting day! :) :) :)
First there was Gillian's birthday celebration at her house where we had lots and lots of good food. Yum. After some talking and bridge, we went off for KTV which was the start of a damn shiok night! We all got super high towards the end and started jumping and screaming and shouting and waving our hands frantically and now the 霍霍霍霍 霍霍霍霍!!! song is stuck is my head. Wahahahaha. And I wanna thank my mom for letting me return home at 5am for once!!! If she didn't let me go for yesterday's KTV session I'd miss out on a WHOLE LOT OF FUN. Hahaha. And today's Mother's Day so I wish my mom and everybody's moms Happy Mother's Day!!! We didn't manage to get my mom the earrings that she wanted coz the wildly popular earrings were all sold out but I gave my mom a card and she seems very happy to get a card. Hahaha. I think it's coz we haven't given her anything for the past 10 years?! Eh. Anyway, my family just had a very satisfying zhi char meal just now and I am damn full. And sleepy. And full! *burp*
Anyway on my way home last night there was this taxi uncle who was so super talkative and haolian that me and Sandy (we were sharing a cab home) couldn't stand him... First he complained about not liking Pasir Ris and Sengkang because it was so ulu there, then he asked me if I would marry a 37 year old guy if I was 25, and when I said I probably wouldn't he said I was a stupid girl (!!!!) and started rattling off in a mix of broken English and Hokkien and I couldn't quite catch what he was saying. Then he said my brain is probably not so good because I am in FASS (what the hell?!??!) and because I was stupid not to marry the 37 year old guy who is a good catch because he is rich and is a lawyer and blahblah (WHAT THE HELL?!?!) and I was starting to think that this uncle was a little psychotic. Then he blabbered on about his sons and daughters, their qualifications, the salaries that they earn, the people they married, and at this point of time me and Sandy were starting to get really annoyed with him. Then when Sandy alighted, he continued with his endless tirade and continued saying things like "Girl ah, you must study hard!", "Girls like you shouldn't stay out too late you know!", and advising me on how to get a boyfriend... By then I was just making polite noises while trying not to encourage him to start on another topic... Wahlao, I think this is the weirdest and most talkative taxi uncle that I've ever met. And to top it off the cab fare cost $29.10! Hah, uncle, you don't like Pasir Ris and Sengkang but a trip there can earn you $29.10!!!
And I had to wake up early for work this morning so I only slept for about 2 measly hours last night. Sigh. But I guess that's good in a way, maybe my body clock can be adjusted back to follow the GMT +8 sleeping pattern and I can stop sleeping at 6am everyday!
Can't wait for next week's celebration (Part 2)! :)

Kinda bored now, so here's some pictures of Hamster! :)
Anyway, the very naughty Hamster bit me on my finger and it was quite painful for a hamster bite! Hamster! How can you bite the hand that feeds you!!! Her teeth is damn sharp and strong lah, she can just dangle from my finger just by using her teeth as a grip. Pity my poor finger! Or maybe, like Yanz (who came to my house on Monday before we embarked on a KTV session!) said, Hamster is scared of humans! But now Hamster is quite old (6 or 7 hamster months old) and cannot be tamed...

I love it when Hamster curls into a ball and sleeps on the wheel... so cute!
Let's track Hamster's growing up years...

See, Hamster used to be so scrawny last time!

Hamster in the same position, but taken further away so Hamster might seem bigger... my photography skills are flawed hahahaha so this is not a good estimate.

Now Hamster's bigger and fatter! And cuter!
It's quite difficult to take nice photos of Hamster coz she keeps running around and squirming... but I've still got a whole collection of blurred Hamster photos and a lot of boring videos of her running on the wheel, or climbing the bars, or frightening my sister wahahaha :D
Yesterday we planned a successful surprise for the MIA Sandy! Anyway, after watching the very pro clip of the Chief Bandit, I feel inspired to level my character and become more pro... but it gets really boring after killing hundreds and thousands of fireboars... BORING... ZZZZ.
Okay shall go and watch TV now.

Can somebody suggest what I should put at the place that says "大家好"? Because it looks silly to me haha. Do tell me if this new blogskin looks screwed up on your screen... I mass-deleted a lot of redundant stuff and I dunno if I deleted some crucial tag or something by accident...
This month is shaping up to be a money-spending month! Mothers' Day, Sandy's birthday, Gillian's birthday, my little sister's very belated present, yada, yada, I feel so poor! :(

Okay, I have some things to say but I don't know how to put it into words.
On to an unrelated topic, my mother is hinting that we should get her this pair of earrings for Mothers' Day. She's getting my very tactful and subtle little sister to be the messenger but Please! Me and my other sis are not so dense! We were planning to get her something anyway even if she wasn't dropping hints all over the place. Hahaha. But right now I shall feign ignorance if not it won't be exciting right? The whole point is to give her something when she doesn't expect it.
Anyway I'm quite glad that I blog. Haha. Because due to the limited capacity of my puny brain, it seems like I can't remember a lot of things... For example, I totally forgot that I actually had to meet the principal in Year 2 for my disasterous common test results until I read my archives. Then *ding!* oh yeah I actually did that!!! How come I don't remember anything! Must be because it wasn't traumatic enough for me to encode it and for it to register in my LTM...
But then it seems again like those 2 years of my life at NJ didn't quite happen but yet I know it happened... It's a weird sensation which I can't quite describe hahaha.
And it's so difficult to find a blogskin... everything they have there is complicated looking, full of tiny words, have too many graphics and hard to navigate... I just want something simple, boring, plain and in-your-face. Like you don't have to click ten million times to find something. And I'm too lazy to make one myself coz I haven't twiddled with the funky looking code for damn long.

I came across a rather insightful piece about this whole Gomez thing (link here). There, some other alternative points to think about. Personally I don't think it's a "conspiracy" and it's being reported to death. So stop harping on it already.
The past two days were all about never-ending cramming and no sleep, and I should really remind myself not to do that again for the next semester. Yeah, I tell myself that everytime but it never materializes. Sigh. I didn't sleep for 2 days and worked through the night, then went to school right after that when the sun rose. Luckily I didn't fall asleep during my last paper at 5pm. And now the holidays are here! :) And I don't know what to do with all the free time I have suddenly... I want to slack a bit before finding a job. Eh well actually I don't know if I should find a job... I was rationalizing with myself while bathing (somehow I think bathtime is a good time for you to talk to yourself) and I thought, I have years and years ahead of me that would be spent working and working and working, do I want to spend another 3 months in my youth working too? But damn, I need money! No work, no money... no money, can't do all the things that I want to do... Vicious cycle... sigh.

Faint! I just saw a past year exam question and I'm like ?!?!?!??! HUH?!?!?!??!?!?!!!!!!!!
Tell me how on earth this is related to Social Psych:
So far I know a lot of stupid attributions and biases, and the planning fallacy which is happening to me now (thinking that I can get alot more done in a given period of time than what is possible), stupid manipulative strategies, and the stupid Asch and Milgram's experiments, but I don't see them being useful in answering this question!
And to think that I thought today's paper was disasterous... :(

"You have been nominated as a potential recepient for a prestigious scholarship. In order to receive the scholoarship, you must give a speech to an evaluation committee who knows nothing about you. Applying what you have learnt in this course, describle and provide reasons for strategies that you would employ to increase your chances of being awarded the scholarship."

Sigh. Today is a *(#$&*&%^*@!! kind of day because:
1. While on my way to school for my exam, the blasted bus broke down ONE STOP before the stop that I was supposed to alight. Of all the blasted times to break down! It sputtered pathetically on the AYE while the uncle tried valiantly to close the rear door. To no avail.
2. Hence I walked over to NUH (already almost 9am!) and hailed a cab. When I got into the cab I looked at the meter and saw that there was a $1 peak hour surcharge ($2.40 + $1 = $3.40, = all the money that I had)! Crap. I got the uncle to drop me at YIH even though I was running late but the meter was already at $3.80. $3.80 for a distance of 2 bus stops!!! Grrrrrr. And so I had to be thick-skinned and asked the uncle if I could just pay him $3.40 coz that's all the cash that I have with me. Luckily the uncle agreed.
3. And the exam! What on earth is "pan-cultural"? Developmental principles are pan-cultural?! I have no idea!!!
4. I haven't slept since 4pm yesterday and I have two papers tomorrow which I haven't studied for. Not at all. So screwed. :(
