Happy belated Vday!

Slumpy's birthday falls on Vday so I bought a cake and we sang a birthday song for him :)
(Squishy and Rolly's birthday is on 22 Feb - they are non-identical twins)

Oh yes, Brown is their cousin who looks perpetually solemn.

It wasn't the most romantic of Vdays coz we had a little disagreement/incident. But it's all good now!
I got my teeth cleaned (and nagged by my dentist) and was told that I had to get my wisdom tooth extracted at the hospital. Better remember to get that done soon coz I have a feeling I will forget alllll about it.

Then I got my eyelash extensions removed because half of them have fallen off already! The eyelash-ian (?) was quite surprised that mine only lasted 3 weeks because it was supposed to be able to last a good 4-6 weeks if you take care of it well. I'm like super chor lor plus it's really hindering how I wash my face. Although I must say, they really make a difference to the eyes. A few teachers said my lashes were nice! But a few of my real lashes fell off with the extensions :( so I better give them a break now.

(My brow resurrection is still holding up pretty well though it has faded considerably in the weeks after!)

Concluded the evening with the 10km Brooks Marina Run and I think we did well! We went at a very steady pace and managed to finish the run without stopping, and at a very decent time too.

Rewarded ourselves with dinner at ECP
Trying to recreate what we ate for our first date hahaha
(Answer: Sambal kangkong, sambal stingray, rice and sugar cane - but we got greedy and added sotong and chicken wings LOL)

Also volunteered at the CEE as a reception couple on Friday. If there's a "ministry" that I have to join, I wouldn't mind joining this. One thing they told us during our EE weekend was that through our love for each other and our marriage, we can show other people God's love. And that was one of the things that struck me the most. Haha not sure if I make sense. Still quite bad at explaining this thing.

So anyway I mentioned that I was still looking for a baptism name and one of the couples told me to pray about it. Honestly I really (1) don't know how to pray and (2) too lazy to pray haha. So I'm thinking maybe I'll just flip the bible or look at all the Saints' names and find one I like. But for now Sophie is still quite a strong contender.

Korea was pretty awesome, even though it was very very chilly and my body condition wasn't that good. I've always preferred cooler climes than to be hot and sweaty and I used to be pretty good at taking the cold but as I get older, I find that my tolerance level for the cold has gone down quite a bit. :x My lungs are also very inclined to develop allergic coughs especially when the temperature dips so I gotta ensure that my chest and neck are kept warm. Before I left for the trip I was already nursing a sorethroat and I could feel a cough coming and it worsened in the cold, so I popped a lot of pills while I was there, and got better towards the last few days.

I think my stomach also shrank in the cold, didn't have much of an appetite most of the time (or maybe it was because I've reached my quota for hotpot). We had 2 very expensive dinners though - 40,000 KRW (~48 SGD / or is it 60,000 KRW? #memoryfail) for a Korean BBQ dinner and 65,000 KRW (~78 SGD) for a buffet dinner cruise along the Han River. But never mind, on holiday, just spend first and regret later!
Luckily I didn't put on any weight on my already expanded frame haha if not jialat.

But nose-blowing and frozen fingers/ears/nose aside, I had lots of great memories such as seeing snow fall for the first time in my life! Also tried live octopus, fulfilled my wish of visiting Shinhwa's Kyochon chicken shop and I love the shopping there, especially for skincare and cosmetics. Now that I'm back, I feel like I should have bought more stuff! Never mind about bursting and overweight luggages hahaha.

Am hoping I get to visit Korea in autumn one day, when the trees are awash with pretty red leaves and the weather would be nice and cool! And I'll make sure to go with an emptier luggage so that I can lug more skincare and cosmetics home! Hurhur.

Yeah you can tell that I'm pretty bored and free at work recently with the sudden increase in blog posts. Haha.

Anyway I just remembered that I've wanted to try baking Rose Cupcakes after trying one from Twelve Cupcakes a few weeks ago.

Nah this is not from Twelve Cupcakes

This is the one from Twelve Cupcakes, taken in a totally non-appealing fashion.
You can also see half of a salted caramel cupcake

So that's another on the baking list! Now I'm just sitting at my table and waiting for the minutes to pass..... and I've got class later at 7pm sigh. :(

Oh and I went for a lunch time express manicure/classic pedicure (had to utilize almost expiring voucher) and I have successfully managed to ruin my manicure within minutes of stepping out of the salon. Useless fact of the day!

This is quite an interesting way of documenting your life in photos - based on the themes given! I might give it a try (if I do remember to snap photos haha) and revive my dead Project 365 blog. :D

I snapped one on 4 March - the theme was Bedside.

New Gelish manicure!! :D

There's nothing beside my bed, and I took this while on my bed, so technically it's still considered my bedside... LOL

I thought Gelish was invincible but now I guess not...

Because I discovered something that causes the polish to decolourize!

The culprit is none other than LIME JUICE!

I had hokkien mee for lunch and I think the lime juice caused a corner on my index finger to turn yellow. It's not that obvious but upon close scrutiny, you'll be able to see it.

That said, it's been 12 days and my manicure has not chipped at all! So eh, still pretty awesome la. Just stay away from lime juice.

Prosperous Dragon Year everyone!!! :D

This year I've been doubling up as the role of the family chauffeur, since we rented a car for CNY. The rates are exhorbitant but we are paying for the convenience I guess.

Anyways, I reserved a Ford Focus and got a free upgrade to a Toyota Camry when I went to collect my car on Saturday. The Toyota is bigggggggggg and I'm not used to handling such a big car! Very worried that I'll scratch it somehow when turning tight corners especially in multi-storey carparks. I hate multi-storey carparks. They are the bane of all drivers!!! ROARRRRRRR *like a dragon*

My driving skills are still noob and parking is a family effort (everyone tells me TURN NOW! and keeps on eye on the the back to make sure that I get into the lot without buanging someone else's car). Still better to be driven around than to drive. And it's not just guys who cannot multi-task while driving because I can't multi-task either!

On to more frivolous stuff. I did a Gelish manicure on CNY eve and I must say that I'm very impressed with Gelish! It takes a few coats but it dries instantly under a UV lamp. Which is great for chor lor people like me! I'm always digging my hands around and ruining my nails within minutes after the completion of a manicure. Its hard-as-nails (hurhur pun) coat means that you can scratch, do household chores, dig your ears/nose etc. and it won't smudge nor chip! Excellent!!! The only downside is that it's pretty pricey (I paid $40 for an express mani with Gelish which I thought was a total rip-off o_o) but at least it's long lasting (said to be able to last up to 3 weeks or a month) so at least you get more bang for your buck. I'm sold on Gelish now! Haha.

Signing off with an extremely flattering picture of me. Never thought I'd be one of those 大眼妹, you know like those girls in Taiwan who look super cui without makeup but once they stick on some falsies and do their makeup magic, they look totally transformed! Yeah I look like that too! :D

怎样? 眼睛超大, 脸又尖, 又有樱桃小嘴, 不错吧! :D

Returning the car tomorrow morning. I was hoping to sleep in but my mother wants me to send her to work tomorrow. Le sigh. :( AND WHY DID MY BOSS CALL ME ON A PUBLIC HOLIDAY WHEN IT'S NOT EVEN URGENT I HATE MY BOSS NOW ROARRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

TOMORROW IS NOT A WORK DAY TOMORROW IS NOT A WORK DAY TOMORROW IS NOT A WORK DAY TOMORROW IS NOT A WORK DAY TOMORROW IS NOT A WORK DAY. :(
