Spent a very productive Saturday getting some dates and confirming the venue - must say we're very efficient haha.

Also finally caught up with HIMYM!!! Neglected the show for a while since I didn't have time and only started re-watching from S09E07 a few days back and watched like 7 or 8 eps today. Tomorrow is the last of Season 9, and the last of the entire series. I couldn't remember lots of things that I've watched over the years haha. Such as all those references to characters and incidents. Still think the first 7 seasons were much better; season 9 is a weeeeee bit draggy. Can't wait for Ted to meet The Mother!!!! After all those trials and tribulations! FINALLY!

And thus concludes my 3-year affair with HIMYM.

Saw these GIFs from a HIMYM article I was reading and thought they were cute haha

Will miss Barney Stinson and his wisecracks and exaggerated ways.

And this old image that I posted before but still remains awesome:

Next I want to watch this hot Korean drama that everyone's talking about! "My Love From The Stars" or something like that. Haven't watched any Kdrama for years! Have high hopes for this haha.

Another work week beckons. Boo.

HIMYM Season 8 Episode 5

Ted proposed to Victoria. Victoria issued him an ultimatum - if she marries him, he cannot remain friends with Robin.

Ted to Lily and Marshall: I can't imagine life without Robin, but she'll never be in love with me. She'll never be my wife, she'll never be the person I grow old with. Victoria... Victoria could be.

***

Ted to Victoria: I'm not in love with Robin, but she's like family to me and I can't end that. So... can you accept that?

Victoria: I really hope you get her some day.

Poor Ted.

HIMYM Season 8 Epsiode 6

Robin thinks Nick is dumb and wants to break up with him but she keeps getting distracted by his hot abs or keeps procrastinating. After hearing yet another failed break-up attempt over the speaker phone, Barney rushes over to the cafe where they are at.

Barney to Nick and Robin: She can't go home with you Nick, because Robin and I are in love. I love her, Nick. I love everything about her. And I'm not a guy who says that lightly - I'm a guy who has faked love his entire life. I thought love was just something idiots thought they felt. But this woman has a hold on my heart that I could not break if I wanted to. And there have been times that I wanted to. It has been - overwhelming, and humbling, and even painful at times. But I could not stop loving her any more than I could stop breathing. I am hopelessly, irretrievably in love with her - more than she knows.

Bravo Barney. Even if you did pretend that you were faking it afterwards. I am all for Barney and Robin! But yes, poor Ted. I feel a bit like Ted sometimes. Sometimes I watch HIMYM and see bits of my life staring right back at me. How do ex-lovers remain close friends? They just get tangled up in each other's life and things get complicated.

Anyway bear with me here while my blog gets filled with emo, angsty, self-pitying, self-loathing, self-deprecating posts from time to time for the next few days/weeks/months.

Some quotes that I got off from Twitter that I've amassed over the years. They are like mini bowls of Chicken Soup for the Soul lol.

"How do you look at the boy you love and tell yourself it's time to walk away?"

"When you come to matter in someone's life, it's unfair to just up and go as and when you please."

"Don't ever beg someone you love to love you back. It's pathetic. Just leave them. That is how you hold your pride."

"While I was holding on, all you did was let go."

"I guess the reason why I held on for this long is because I thought we would one day get our second chance."

"When you love someone and you're insecure, you cling." - omg I think I'm completely like that. I clung on to a toxic relationship when somebody paid attention to me because no one else ever did and you think no one else ever will.

"Moving on is not forgetting. Moving on is actually accepting. The truth is when you loved someone, you will love them forever. When you see this person again there's no feeling of hurt or anger or wanting. That's when you know you moved on."

And speaking of moving on, this is a very good article - What Moving On Is Like - from Thought Catalog. Extracts -
"Moving on is like this: one day you forget the taste. The next, you forget the smell. Then the touch. Then the laugh. Then the smile. Then the jokes. Then the eyes, the hair, the hands, the feet. You forget the socks. You forget the fingers, the toes, the sex. You forget the pulses, the beats, the rhythms and how you sometimes felt like they all belonged to you. You forget the words; finally, you forget the voice that spoke them.
Moving on is when you think about him and don’t punish yourself for it, when he begins to evoke more of a scientific response than an emotional one."
I will get there!!!

Ladies and gentlemen (if any)!

Do you feel that increasingly you are not a part of the "other side"?

Do you feel sad because you have no one to snuggle with?

Are you sick of seeing photos of happy married couples and getting invitations to weddings?

Fear not, for Dr #WiseOldSage is here to dispel myths and dispense advice!

With some recent change in life events recently, I present to you some statistics and the rapidly changing profile of my amigos.

*Note 1: Based on sample size of 16 (i.e. the friends I most frequently hang out with)
*Note 2: The singletons are based information that I know, they could have been sneaky and not update

LOL yes I know I'm not being paid to sit in my office and do up bo liao pie charts like this one. Hahaha. Allow me to indulge in a moment of slacking because life is a drag. :x

And this reminds me of how Marshall in HIMYM has this habit of doing up graphs and charts for every single thing till the gang has to conduct an intervention! Also, HIMYM Season 8 has started!!! :D

Back to the point. So actually, if you look at the cold hard facts that I have presented in the pie chart, we singles (as represented by the orange slice - which I chose on purpose ahem because orange is my favourite colour but I digress) still make up a big slice of the pie! YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!! *fireworks*

Of course, I foresee that the slice will start to shrink as we age :( and then the kids will start coming :( and then the meet ups will get lesser :( and then the already once-every-few-months meetups will start becoming a once-every-year meetup. And then that's the time when you find that you need more single friends to hang around with! Quick! Find me someone who is not a part of a greater sum!

But that said, is this the season for love and relationships to blossom? So many updates and so much good news recently! :D

So if you can't beat 'em, join 'em! Live your life vicariously through your friend's love life by pestering them for details (sorry Saint)! I can see how annoying that can be ahahahaha but I'm too excited by it myself LOL.
