I have a feeling that I will be wasting my future Saturdays away, when my Korean classes end.
Not planning to continue because I'm too lazy to be diligent enough to study. I would rather be doing something else... like online shopping. This is also a stark reminder that I will probably waste my money should I ever decide to further my studies. And also, forking out $400 every three months is quite a huge sum of money. I would rather save that for other uses... like traveling. Or online shopping. Haha.
I was thinking about how I will most probably end up being cooped up at home on Saturdays and thought, maybe I should get a hamster? Hmm. But it is very sad when hamsters die.
I hardly ever get to see my friends these days, and if this is how it's going to be like now, imagine what it's going to be in future when marriage and kids factor into the equation! But still, thankful for the few who I still get to see quite frequently. Maybe as we grow older, we don't yearn for the company of friends that much any more?
Either that, or I need to find more friends! Which brings me to the dinner meet up I had with the dude on Thursday. Thankfully, he seemed pretty normal (unlike the horror date that Gillian had to sit through). There were of course, the tiny, awkward silences that signify a first meeting but at least he is not a mass murderer or an Interpol suspect. My colleagues were all very excited and/or worried about my dinner appointment. Classic case of 皇上不急，太监急。
OK back to online shopping, and I need to catch up on my We Got Married videos too. And argh I should try and catch up with The Amazing Race...
Maybe I should pick up some new hobby! Like cooking! Or baking! Oh yes I need to go and sign up for my pole-dancing and salsa classes and shake some booty!!! 1/4 OF THE YEAR HAS PASSED!!! And as usual I'm wasting my life away. :x

It all started with a birthday greeting a Primary school classmate left on my wall on Facebook, and the idea to have a class gathering (after 13 long years!) finally came into fruition! It took about 2.5 months of planning (and procrastinating) and I am proud to say that I was the main organizer for this! I spearheaded it! Positive action verbs! Woohoo!
Gotta thank Facebook for the ease of contacting people and linking people up.
Lunch was initially awkward - in typical Singaporean fashion, 80% of the attendees were late - but it was soon salvaged by the arrival of the gregarious ones. Over the course of idle chit-chat and interview-like questions where everyone politely probed about each other's choice of earning money, I found out that 2 of them used to date (!!!) and surprisingly, none of us present were engaged, married, or had kids. And everyone concurred that it was indeed surprising!
Some I haven't seen at all ever since I left Primary School!
Oh! And I met this cute Korean guy in my last Korean lesson for the level! Our teacher invited some Koreans students over and we hosted a small party for them. We also had to prepare questions to ask them and half the time I was just stuttering in broken Korean.
And I spent unnecessary money buying 3 more dresses today. I have enough new clothes to last me from 初一到初四，no actually more, because some I bought without planning to wear it for CNY. Sigh. SELF-CONTROL PLEASE! And I also realized that there is only 1 more weekend left to CNY, and I haven't done any spring cleaning yet! Which means I have to clear my table and etc etc etc next weekend!
Anyway, I think I kinda like my brown hair now. :)

So I completed my Level 2 Korean class last Saturday *박수~* and our 선생님 (teacher) decided to have a cooking class in place of our last lesson.
My group volunteered? had no choice? randomly chose? to make kimbap (김밥). It's rice rolled with laver (LAVER! thinks of cute Japanese waiter~) and various random ingredients. Basically it's a Korean version of sushi. Ah there. I see a thought bubble forming at the tip of your heads. Like this:
We were too busy making noise, rolling and cutting during class, so I don't have any pictures of the process. But I dabao-ed a roll of kimbap (kimbap roll?) back home and here it is! All in its mouth-watering glory!
우리가 김밥을 만들어요~ 너무 맛있었어요!

Yeah that roll of kimbap was probably already 2/3 down our stomachs after I remembered to take a picture. But it was good! My first roll of kimbap ever! Erm, the one that ungraciously spilt open was due to the fact that there was a hole in the seaweed. So when I cut it, it ungraciously spilt open. And by right kimbap should be colourful! as 선생님 chided when we made boring monotone kimbap. There should be reds! greens! yellows! colour! But as you can see, my first kimbap consists of mostly orange/yellow stuff. It's egg, pickled radish and carrot I think.
Not too bad for a first attempt! And it's pretty simple to make too. Maybe I should attempt to cook dinner over the weekend since I predict we're all gonna be surviving on food court food for 2 weeks. Kinda inspired by our 10-course cookout session the other time.
Oh and other groups also made other Korean dishes like bibimbap, kimchi pancake, Japchae, ddokbokki (spicy rice cake). 너무 맛있었어요! (It was delicious~)

It's complete and utter chaos in the 2PM fandom AGAIN, as if the shocking news of Jaebeom leaving abruptly last September wasn't bad enough...
JYPE releases a statement saying that Jaebeom is no longer their artiste and will not be returning to 2PM. /cue broken hearts and pandemonium
Seriously, what are they playing at?! Is this some kind of desperate grab for publicity? (Not that they need it, they're popular enough without any funny tricks going on.) Why this time? Why now? He was supposed to come back, according to their statement. It's fishy and strange, and Hottests are all determinedly shouting "CONSPIRACY!"
I dunno, I'm just going along with the ride and seeing how things unfold in the course of time. Interestingly, I have to prepare a presentation for Korean class this Saturday and I'm basing my presentation on 2PM. Haha.
(Why not Shinhwa? Because 2PM has more varied backgrounds and is thus easier for me to form sentences like - Jaebeom is from the US. Taecyeon is from the US. Nichkhun is from Thailand. Haha.)

My Korean teacher was just basically repeating whatever she taught for the first two lessons today - I practically spent the entire 1.5 hours going "ga gya geo gyeo go gyo gu gyu geu gi". Repeat 14 times (coz there are 14 different basic consonants). I even dozed off at one point. Or maybe that's because I don't sleep enough. But anyway.
What I really want to learn is the grammar! I'm starting to think that she's not going to teach us grammar for the entire duration of the Stage 1 course. 3 lessons later and I haven't exactly learnt anything new!
So in other exciting news, I attended my first kickboxing class yesterday and now my arms and stomach muscles are protesting. It's quite tiring leh! Punch punch punch kick kick kick jump jump jump shuffle shuffle shuffle punch punch punch. Hopefully I can keep up my healthy lifestyle! HAHA.
And I did my health screening (hello cholesterol levels!) and I got a letter today stating exactly how much variable bonus I'm getting. It's bonus month, WOOHOO! :) $$$$$ *dollar signs* But no increment leh. :(

Knowing my great love for all things Korean, I have always wanted to learn the language but never found the time or money to!! Sure I can read a little and catch some nouns and phrases here and there but it's all very unstructured. 3 years later, I finally managed to spare the money and time and signed myself up for an elementary Korean language course at the community centre!
Had my first lesson today it was an all-girls class! See the allure of smexy Korean stars... HAHA. It was quite a big class actually, with around 30 students. The pace of the lesson was rather slow, but maybe that's because the teacher taught us the consonants today which I already more or less knew. I think I prefer more intensive lessons like how they taught us Japanese in NUS. But without the luxury of time, I guess this is as good as it gets. Can't wait for the class to progress further so I can learn how to spout more random Korean phrases!
