Cleared my last day of leave for this FY today. Spent the day not doing anything productive or constructive!
Instead all I did was:
- Read Tuesday's newspapers
- Read Wednesday's newspapers
- Read Thursday's newspapers
- Read Friday's newspapers
- Window shop online and think about my sad bank account (got a smaaallllllllll increment from this month onwards but my salary is already very low to begin with bahhh)
Gah! Haven't even done my Korean homework! And there is no excuse for not doing so!
And the ulcers are back! SIGH! Must be because I ate too many potato chips recently. :(
I forgot about Shinhwa's 13th anniversary yesterday! Oh man bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad. :( Need to be a less forgetful fan please.
And I am going to meet this fella whom I met at the sushi-making event this Thursday! Honestly I had no impression of him when I was contacted by the event organizer after the event (asking if I am ok to disclose my number). I don't know why I agreed to meet him either. Haha. I figured everyone should get a fair chance yeah? At least I managed to test my market value through that experience (except that I seem to be attracting types that are not my type?!). Sorry dude, you have to be my guinea pig this once.
I hope my weekend will be more fruitful. And I want to eat some sashimi. :(
Check out the coolest new hangout in the north-east!

I've been noticing that some development sprung up in this secluded area in Punggol when I go for my weekly jogs, and after reading about it in ST last week, I decided to jog there today!

There's a Popeyes outlet within jogging distance from my house! :) The queue was looooooooong.
There's a small cluster of restaurants there, the boardwalk overlooks the river/longkang? and there's even a bridge that brings you to the Lorong Halus Wetland. I hope it gets more developed and vibrant though, and when it's fully up and running, Punggol will be funky and my weekends will be filled with greenery and sunshine! Hahahahaha :D The north-east is now a cool place to live in! Hahahahaha.
My parents bought quite a bit of new stuff recently. We have a new standing steam iron (which I have not quite gotten the hang of) and also my parents bought a new bed for themselves. I think it goes to show that the stuff in my house are all slowly but surely falling apart. Hahahaha. Come to think of it, we've been living here for 13 years! The length of stay has exceeded my old house by 1 year!
Will post more pics on my 365 blog of the Punggol Promenade when I'm not feeling too lazy. For now, it's time to go and sleep!

Yes, the world is still filled with bigoted, chauvinistic men like this fine specimen below. A supposedly educated young man.

It may be said in jest but I don't find it amusing. I find it highly condescending and degrading, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds his views extremely archaic and downright insulting. Women are not commodities and yes dude, since you feel women 'sux', you have also successfully insulted who the woman who brought you to this world. Talk about generalization.
If you do not learn how to respect women, then don't come and kpkb if girls treat you like shit.
It is times like this when I feel that chivalry has ceased to exist and that all men are scum. Yes, I am also committing the crime of generalizing, but are there still somewhat decent men around? Who are not attached, married or gay? I am not so sure.

Oh dear... I wanted to update but it's already 3am!
Anyway, I've struck out another item on my bucket list!
I WENT FOR ONE OF THOSE SINGLES' EVENTS! Hahaha.
"Make your own sushi & make new friends!" it chirps brightly.
So I decided to sign up (more of the intention of making and stuffing myself with sushi - the friends are an afterthought hahaha).
Well it didn't turn out too badly after all. The sushi-making was a thinly disguised excuse for singles to mingle (that rhymes), and there were ice-breakers and opportunities for the guys to interact with almost all the girls.
The gender mix was quite even, attracted both young and old, so I guess food is really an attractive factor to bring people together! I have also finally affirmed that I actually have some sort of charm - even if it attracts the wrong kind of person. HAHA! One of them is creepy (Gillian's words) while the other was unimpressionable.
I present to you... a picture of the sushi we made.
(Nope, no pictures of cute guys unfortunately.)

Will I join such events again? Since this was more of a "try something new!" thing and I can finally say that I experienced a specially constructed setup to meet singles... unlikely, or at least not in the near future. Perhaps my Mr. Right does not participate in such activities! Hahaha.
Oh and the unimpressionable dude actually messaged me today. Sorry! I am unfortunately not interested.

My last day at my old department. Felt a bit sad, sentimental, emotional. Especially when packing 3 years of my life little by little into boxes. It's like uprooting my life here and upsetting my equilibrium. I have been comfortable here. Didn't really want to leave. But yet I couldn't possibly do this job forever. I should move on to better things. Look forward.
(I realized that I have a very bad habit of not being able to move forward and desperately clutching on to the past, perhaps because I subconsciously I have this thought that I will never meet something even better in future?)
Seriously if it's not for the boss... and the job scope... I probably would have stayed on. But it's also dangerous, because it's a job where you will just get very cushy and comfortable in. Hence there is hardly any chance for advancement or improving your skill sets.
A few of my nice colleagues bought me Swatch vouchers. Very sweet and thoughtful of them! And a very timely (haha pun) and useful gift too, because my watch is a bit koyak and I've always been wanting to get a new one. I just didn't want to spend money because I have been spending way too much already!
And I spent my last hour there taking photos with whoever was in the office... even my boss. HAHA yes! You can finally put a face to the character instead of conjuring a mental image based on my unflattering descriptions of her!
Annex Level 2. I really like the office. My new and fast computer which I only got to enjoy for a short while. My table. That room. Listening out for the door opening and shutting, the tinkling of the wind chime. Too many memories. I will miss the people and the place. :(
Onward to a new chapter in my life and a new job.

I must try not to neglect this blog. Nowadays I'm just trying to update my photoblog regularly and racking my brains to think of moments to capture. Especially on busy busy days where it's meeting after meeting, writing minutes after minutes, and suddenly it's time to go home and nothing particularly spectacular has happened. Except WORK.
It's time move forward and face the new challenges ahead!
So I watched my first R21 movie, The Kids Are All Right. It's a very mild movie, kinda like an overextended drama, but the fact that it potrays a lesbian couple as an ordinary family unit means that it gets slapped with the R21 rating. I think I'm going to watch another movie about lesbians this week. What's up with me and lesbian scenes? Actually I am still happier to watch a heterosexual couple kissing than a lesbian or gay couple kissing. Has more feel. HAHAHA.
Some days are just emo days. More often than not felt by this gaping distance.
