Am fretting over my marketing assignment.
Me, the grumpy unhappy kid.
I take pride in having big, purplish-red bruises. I think they're cool!
My mother and my uncle have been encouraging me to take up driving lessons when I'm still young and have a lot of free time. I agree with the former, but not so much with the latter. My very generous uncle, who supplies me with his used mobile phones, has kindly offered to sponsor part of the learn-to-drive fees.
So tempting!
Therefore, I have decided!
I shall take the Basic Theory test when my exams are over! Anybody wanna go sign up with me? :D

Uncle's wedding on Sunday. Went for the tea ceremony, came home, and went for the wedding dinner. The dinner was vegetarian, which meant a lot of mock meat and flour. None of my wonderful shark's fin soup, of course. Sigh.
Some relatives have taken up the task of asking me "什么时候轮到你? (referring to the act of getting married)" which is of course, a very flawed question because I am not even twenty yet. If I were to be nit-picky about the counting, I'm not even nineteen and a half, for goodness sake. Bah! Why is everyone in a hurry to ensure that everyone else of age gets married? That societal norm should change!
I am thinking that it's because they have nobody else to pick on since those who should be married already are, and those who aren't are not likely to marry. Haha. And I am the oldest cousin of them all!!! I am just a sad and convenient excuse for them to tease. :(
These days I've been examining my bruise. It's about 12cm long, which is comparable to the hip-bruise I got last time when I first started hula-ing. My mom says it looks like the island of Singapore. It's a diamond-shaped bruise. I think the surface area will be bigger that the hip-bruise though.
Today my mom plonked an old sewing machine in the study room. The study room has no space!!! My little sister's barang barang takes up one corner and it looks messy and cluttered. Plus the sewing machine is damn heavy. I know, because I was the one who had to lug it up!
Sigh.
Is it me or does anyone else think that the plot of Desperate Housewives is really going to pieces? Today I was watching and it felt a bit ridiculous that John's mother would just go up to Susan and slap her when she didn't even get concrete proof that Susan was the one having an affair with the gardener. And likewise, when the killer almost killed Edie without finding out if she was the one who wrote the note. So dumb.
I should really get started on the marketing webcast and that individual report...
Oh boo. :( I'm such a boring person.

ANNOUNCEMENT:
Ade, Gillian, Mabel, Yuan Shan (All you SMU-ers)
Ade, Gillian, Mabel, Yuan Shan (All you SMU-ers)
Since your exams end TWO WEEKS before our exams even start, all four of you shall have the honour of organizing Sandy's Birthday Surprise Party. Please make sure that the birthday girl is actually SURPRISED (this is her own request hahaha). Happy racking your brains. Hahahaha. (And tell Mabel and Yuan Shan since I don't think they read this.)
Wow news is spreading that there's an earthquake in Sumatra. 8.5 on the Ritcher scale. People can feel the floor vibrating. Nothing's shaking here in Sengkang though. Hmmm.
Actually wanted to blog about something else... but I think I shall save it for later.
Oh man. My stomach is groaning from the weight of all that food.
*groan*
It's partially digested now but I'm lugging a big belly around like a pregnant lady in her 5th month. Not that I know how a pregnant lady would feel like, but there's a striking resemblence in the belly area.
What went into my stomach:
1. Hokkien Mee
2. Char Kway Teow
3. Fried Carrot Cake
4. Sambal Stingray
5. Hotplate Beancurd
6. Frog Legs
7. Kway Chap
8. Oyster Omelette
9. Ice Kachang
10. Seasme Paste with Glutinous Rice Balls
11. Lime Juice
Satay was supposed to be in the list too but the stomachs couldn't handle it!
*groan*
Plus, I wouldn't be able to go swim on Sunday coz my uncle's getting married. So I can't really justify this gorging spree. You know, you move your arms around a bit and you'll feel a bit better because you are "exercising". Cognitive dissonance. Even though the fats have permanently done their damage by settling themselves on your hips/thighs/butt/tummy. Hahahaha.
I read somewhere that the fats on the hips/thighs/butt are the most difficult to get rid of! They're "stubborn" fats. Sigh. So encouraging. :(
Heck, my philosophy has always been
Eat now, worry about repercussions later. Hahaha.
Was randomly reading this blog and the protagonist in question was complaining that she's fat because she's going to hit 50kg soon. If you weigh less than 50kg, I'd hardly think that you're fat! Sigh. Why is it that such people like to spoil the market for the rest of us who are not as light as a feather, do not have sunken cheeks, scrawny arms, twiggy legs and a size 24 waist?!
My butt hurts. WHY? Because I slipped on a plastic bag and fell down the stairs and hit my butt against the curb. Wahlao! Hurts!!!
Not to mention that it was rather unglam. Hahaha.
Anyway after the initial impact and owww-owww-owwwwww part it started getting numb and then I froze and couldn't really move for some reason. Then I tried testing to see if I could still walk and luckily it didn't hit my spinal cord or whatever (I think) because I made it back in one piece.
But I think my pelvic bone or something hit the cold hard concrete.
I forsee a super big bruise! At least it's at a place where the sun don't shine (unless I wear digustingly low jeans) so it's alright. But it hurts!!!
Whoever littered the plastic bag! You shall suffer from bad karma!!! :(
For the record, I came home and checked my horoscope on The Straits Times but it was just babbling about some keeping secrets thing. There was no mention that misfortune will strike me, hahaha.
Hahaha and this is the quote of the day!
"For a moment, I saw sparks and I actually felt all melty and soft and..... and the next moment, I felt SICK." (Pippin on Aragorn kissing him. LOL LOL LOL!!!)
Viggo might be sick, but Aragorn is still my man! :D (and Ian too. Sandy shall not steal him away!)

Was watching the episode of Lord of the Rings that I taped today.
Visited the American Idol website.
Then suddenly, *ting!*
I realized that Jon Peter Lewis looked like Samwise Gamgee! Hahahahaha!
It's either Sam or Merry/Pippin. Can't tell the difference.
And haha, if I didn't know better, I'd think that Sam and Frodo are gay.

Come, everybody cheer with me,
EL project
2 out of 3 done, 39 hours before the dateline! Am I good or what? Hahaha.
Plus I managed to finish that horrible pile of Japanese homework and go for two different tuition sessions all in a day. Or rather, 12 hours, since I spent the better half of the day sleeping.
I have such wonderful time management skills.
(The procrastinator speaks. Hear, hear!)
Okay I'd better stop being cocky because I have a Feeling that some undesirable grade will get slapped onto my project.
Blogger.com is moving very slooowwly nowadays... pages don't get loaded and things don't get published. Seems like Sandy is not the only one that has technology against her! :D
It's been a hell of a week. :(
Right now I'm thoroughly convinced that everything comes crashing on you when you have no time but when it's during the slack-season, there will be nary a whisper. It's like a sine graph. Up down up down up down up down goes the graph.
A 3-hour lab session turned into 6.5 hours all because I committed the grave mistake of mixing compounds A and N together before recrystallizing. :( Okay, so I had to re-do the entire experiment, which meant that the compound I harvested from the previous session went down the happy stinky drain. The lab technicians didn't make things any easier for me, saying that I was giving them nothing but trouble since they had already cleared the chemicals and apparatus and stuff. Fine. Whatever. I did what I was supposed to do and then proceded to the 2nd part of the experiement while everyone else was going home. Aaaaaaaannnnnd my compound REFUSED to crystallize. I ended up watching water boil. Literally. I was just sitting in front of my fume cupboard waiting for the damn water to boil!!! AHHHHHHHHHH! What a waste of time. I ended up reeking of smelly chemicals and having a pair of very tired legs (since I was standing for most of the 6.5hours) and being one hour late for work. Bah!
6.5 hours of lab is enough to drive any normal person nuts. *cue image of frazzled looking scientist in white lab coat and goggles holding a smoking conical flask* Plus the lab stinks!!! Right now I think my file still stinks of the lab. Whenever I flip my file open I smell the Chem Lab! *cringe*
I'm sure NUS had the good intention of including Breadths so that we can explore our interests outside our major. I actually quite like Org Chem. But this lab fiasco has killed all my remaining interest in it. Bah! Big mistake. Big big big mistake. I'm so happy I S/U-ed this module. Thank god and heavens above.
Even if I flunk it I DON'T CARE ANYMORE!
Oh yah and did I mention, I got my first D grade on an assignment for my Pre-Lab! Wonderful! Marvellous! And again, I'm so happy I S/U-ed the damn module.
If you cannot tell, I have a personal vendetta with CM1121 now. Any aspiring NUS Chemistry majors, you have been warned.
Okay enough complaining about Organic Chem.
Next topic.

Today I wasted $5.40 on a taxi ride. Stupid stupid me. I didn't even spend more than $5.40 on FOOD for the whole week and now I have to blow my hard-earned cash on a taxi ride.
And the main point was that I thought I was late for my tutorial but I actually wasn't. So my $5.40 was not well spent at all.
I sound very nitpicky here but I am very nitpicky when it comes to money. I can't help it. Every precious cent counts!
I did this subject pool personality test on managing finances or something today. I find it very interesting because I like to manage my own finances. And no, do not suggest that I would be better off an as accountant because managing my own finances is a very different thing from balancing sheets and auditing a company's accounts. I think that would bore me to death.
Okay and other than that, I managed to survive the week with my work trainings every night. Now I need to worry about my projects and lab report.
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was to let off some steam.

How. I can't find someone suitable to interview for my stupid project. And it's due next Thursday! Was reading the stupid guidelines last night and got increasingly worried by the minute. 1500 words on employee management by next Thursday!!! :(
And I can't even find someone to interview!
Was thinking about interviewing my father, but it's not very feasible because he'll give monosyllabic answers. :(
I am so screwed! :(

Bah! In the middle of my 6th lap today, some person ripped off a piece of my skin. Using his toenail. Look!

My goodness. That person's toenail is wonderfully sharp. He probably didn't cut it for months. I think I might have broken his toenail too (think it was the little toe) since he manged to scrape off a (small) piece of my skin but I didn't see anyone limping around hahaha. We were swimming in opposite directions and he was on my right and I was trying to go past him and his feet kicked my arm and his toenail jabbed into my flesh and ripped off a piece of skin the process. :( Now a part of my skin is either floating in the disgustingly dirty Hougang Swimming Complex, or it's dangling from his toenail. Ow. :(
It didn't bleed coz I was still flailing my arms around the the water but when I reached the end of the pool I was examining it and it was just this white patch minus brown skin. Wahahahaha. Never knew swimming was such a violent sport. Now my admiration for Ian Thorpe has gone up ten notches.
But he probably doesn't have to jostle for some swimming space with the rest of the public in the pool.
I could go on and on about irritating kids who keep bouncing up and down on the ropes and people who just tread water in the middle of nowhere (and obstructing my path in the process) and my irritating sister who was so irritating at the pool today and blah blah blah. :(
Actually I think I should complain about the irritating kids. They like to bounce up and down the dividing ropes or slither around like snakes and I always get striked by the rope in the process. Bah! I think all kids should be banned from the swimming pool. BANNED! Oei! You are here to have a swimming lesson! Not irritate other members of the public! And since banning them is almost an impossiblity (seeing that they take up the bulk of the public pool's ticket sales) at least have the courtesy to stick to your own lane! Stop bouncing up and down the ropes! It's not meant for you all to bounce on!!! Gah!
And my irritating sister! AHHHH! I felt like dumping her at the pool and stalking home myself but I think I would be liable for Abandonment of a Minor or something. I felt like giving her a large smack in public whenever she tried to be annoying or was in one of her stupid childish moods/tantrums. I deprived her of her tidbits today because she was so annoying. Bah! Yes I am a very mean sister! If I have a kid one day I shall be a very authoritative parent! And that is not good because the kids will be scarred for life under my iron-fist ruling! So I shall not have kids!
And other than that, this week's going to be a horrible week, for I am working every night from Tuesday to Saturday. Please see my wonderful timetable and gasp at the ridiculosity of it all. Then you can at least pretend to sympathtize with my horrible week.
Monday: Lessons from 10am to 6pm, with a 2 hour break in between.
Tuesday: Tuition in the afternoon, work at night.
Wednesday: Lessons from 10-5 with no break!!! Work at night.
Thursday: Lessons from 10-3 with no break again and then I'm trying to squeeze in a spot of tuition from 3 to 6.30, before work starts.
Friday: Lessons from 9-5, (no break again) then work.
Saturday: Work at night. Then I have to start fretting about my lab report, my SSB2216 paper, and the EL project.
Think I should start incorporating Energizer batteries into my diet.
And oh! The injustice of it all. My sisters are having their school holidays this week! *grits teeth*
Okay on hindsight, it doesn't sound so bad. I will survive!!! :D

Bah! My brain feels like cotton wool. All thanks to this blardy tough riddle solving thing. If anyone can get past Level 10, please let me know!!!
Haha tell me I rock! I cook a mean dish of pasta!!! :D

See the big globs of cheese.
Oh and I cut an onion today for the first time! :D
And no I didn't cry from the cutting but it did make my eyes feel a bit 酸酸的.
Another lazy afternoon today. I colour-coded my wardrobe. I've got a lot of pink tops! Hehehe.
Then it was work. Work was okay! Super slack compared to the dental one.
And yesterday I sat in Shuhui's car! I'm her first passenger!!! Wahahahaha! So exciting. Never sat in a friend's car before.

I start work tomorrow! Paid absolutely peanuts though. Absolutely peanuts. It's even lesser than the rate at the dental clinic (and that was meagre enough) but beggars cannot choose.
Spent the afternoon lounging around and reading books and newspapers. Yay. What a great day to vegetate and do absolutely nothing. Haven't done the whole nua around the house thing for so damn long.
I don't like people rummaging through my personal stuff. That is just plain discourteous.
Just probing around and sticking your nose into drawers and boxes is not very nice.
Even if it's just something that's not important like my accessories box.

Nothing to update.
No major complaints, no deep dark thoughts, no random musings, no quirky observations about People and Life.
No news is good news, so I say. :)
But yar, I want to complain about tagboard. Tagboard is lousy. Tagboard is always not working. Bah!
Oh I had a Japanese mid-term today and it wasn't very good. In contrast, I breezed through my English mid-term. If English is going to be as simple as the test then I wouldn't mind majoring in English at all. Heh heh. Oh and did I mention??? I PASSED my Organic Chem test!!! Three cheers for myself!!! :)
Ever feel like sometimes there are 101 things for you to do all at once, 101 engagements to fulfill, and suddenly everyone starts planning their social calendar when you are at your busiest?
Last week was one of those weeks. Think it was due to all that pondering about my job and that sickening Marketing project.
Then after that you just hit an incredibly slack period (i.e. now). This week's timetable happens to fall on a week that I don't have to spend more hours than necessary in school. No work, no tuition, no more mid-terms (but 1 individual report and 1 group project due two weeks later and I'm trying not to think about it right now. Carpe diem!). No plans, no outings, no nothing. I'm so free. (This is where you all start flooding my phone/MSN/tagboard with offers to date me out wahahahahaha.)
Been talking to my mom more these few days. All about job related stuff. Actually my mother is kind of okay to talk to when I'm not feeling snappish and bad-tempered, which is most of the time. Just never made the effort to, I guess.
Hah, I have a budget of $2.80 a day to last me till end March.
Okay forget the dates. Home is the best place to be. I shall watch TV till my eyes get glued on the screen.

No work, no tuition, no more mid-terms (but 1 individual report and 1 group project due two weeks later and I'm trying not to think about it right now. Carpe diem!). No plans, no outings, no nothing. I'm so free. (This is where you all start flooding my phone/MSN/
During the past week, I observed the following pattern:
I sit, I don't talk, I sleep.
I sit, I talk, I don't sleep.
Therefore, I should find someone to talk to whenever I'm having boring lectures.
But that will defeat the purpose of actually trying to pay attention.
Pay attention --> Don't talk --> Fall asleep --> Not paying attention.
It's a vicious cycle.

You can see that my travelling experiences are mostly limited to the Asia continent.
But woah imagine what the map of the contestants of The Amazing Race would look like.
And...
I quit my job!!! Yay!!!
I am so relieved.
Luckily, The Tyrant didn't give me a hard time and I realized that I was rather prejudiced, describing The Tyrant as such a tyrant as if he's the worst boss in the world but he isn't actually a tyrant so I shall stop calling him The Tyrant. And if I were more resilient and determined to work hard and learn the tricks of the trade I might actually like this job but lest Saint is going to make me feel regretful about my decision if I keep on blabbering about my job, I shall shuddap!
What's done is done! So Saint, I forbid you to comment on anything about my quitting.
Oh and I saw a bloodied, extracted decayed tooth today for the first time!
And today a lot of people were making dentures!
During tuition today, while I was checking the dictionary for some words, the words "amalgam", "pumice" and "autoclave" caught my eye. I don't know if I'm now ultra sensitive to dental terms or is this a sign from somewhere above. Hahaha.
So we're back to square one! Broke, but not so miserable! :)
Try Si Yi, You'll Like It.
Or so says them. Go, go sloganize your name too!
"If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."
This was the topic that we had to present on for SSB2216 weeks ago, but this sentence popped into my mind once again because I am so so so so tempted to "get out of the kitchen" ASAP.
In fact I've already 99% made up my mind and I think I'm crazy but I'm crazy AND miserable AND stressed AND frustrated and that's not a very good combination for the mental state. For the past few days I kept dwelling about it and stressing about it but today when a little seed was planted in my mind, it kept growing and growing and soon it blossomed into a big cactus.
And I'm also very sleep deprived. I wonder how I actually survived my JC years with so little sleep.
I just don't wanna disappoint my mother because I know she'll start on her "you never even try how do you know you can't do it? In life, you must ... ... ... ... ..." theories.
Frankly, I'd rather be broke but happy.
But it sucks knowing that you have no financial security at all.
Looks like I can't take adversity huh. Like those lofty youngsters who want the shortest and easiest way possible to their goal. Think I've been having it too good. Life needs to deal me a few knocks and bumps.
SO happy. No lab report this week, stupid Marketing group project ALL DONE! YAY! Hello, I did 80% or 90% of the work myself. I think I deserve a big pat on the back.
Will let you all know how it went tomorrow!

Sheesh.
Work was really really stressful. It's such a fast-paced, high-strung environment over there and I didnt a single minute of it at all. For most of the time I was staring at the patients' blood-and-water-filled mouths and feeling blur and useless. I was lost in the world of dental jargon and muffled voices. So many things to memorize. Dealing with 101 things at a time. I got quizzed on the names of the dental instruments also. Plus the Tyrant (my not-so-affectionate name for the person I'm working for) has this really autocratic tone of voice that will make any nice and forgiving person feel irritated and he complains that I move too slowly. Bah.
I must think of the money. Think. Think. Think. $$$.
But wahlao, it's not as if the pay is fantastic also lar.
If I were to be optimistic about this job stint, one good thing that will come out from this is that now I know that I'm not suited for a stressful and fast workpace and work environment.
I came out from work today with my heart accelerating.
Never mind, must be willing to learn. I must have a good attitude! I must not hate the job just one day into it!
Wahlao, tomorrow 10-5pm back-to-back lessons. Please hope I won't faint from hunger.
And I need an organizer!
Die man I haven't done my Japanese homework and Organic Chemistry homework. And I want to try and sleep early. For once.
