Think that more or less summarises my year.
(this must be the shortest year-end wrap up/reflection I've done LOL)
History has shown that odd years are better than even years (for me), but I wouldn't say this year was particularly horrible. It could have been better if I didn't get that bad fall or if I didn't develop my usual allergic cough (which cost me $280!!!!) but other than that, no bad things happened and for that I should be grateful.
Next year should be a rather busy year filled with wedding prep. Preparing to get married hasn't really hit me hard (yet). Now it's just a ring on the finger and the occasional wedding prep talk. The hectic part would be the 6 months before the big day! The Engaged Encounter was a good way of easing me into what it entails to be a married person and like the slogan says, a wedding is a day but a marriage is a lifetime.
I used to think and was all prepared to remain happily single, spend my days as it comes, maybe have a hamster or two, go for adventures, try new things, jio my friends to go on holidays, and leech off my parents by staying with them till as long possible LOL. Sounds good right? And it still sounds good to me! Hahaha. Trying to find money to finance the wedding, the dinner, the house, the renovations, where to stay... blah. All these were not part of the Plan. But it's OK! Having a loved one to go through life with you gives it a little more meaning and I guess, something to look forward to each day?
I can already forseee the greatest challenge for me in the next 5 years - starting a family (GULP). I really really really really really have no affinity for kids and I don't like them much. Now the challenge is how to reconcile this mindset with the fact that I may end up with my own motley crew some day (DOUBLE GULP). HOW TO PARENT THEM YOU TELL ME. I will probably end up screaming at them till they all hate me. I still don't think I'm self-sacrifical enough to be a parent. Our Slumpy, Squishy and Rolly are good enough for me!
2015 is the year I turn the big 3-0. I can't think of anything else on my to-do list that I want to accomplish before I turn 30. Of course I still hope to continue visiting at least 1 new country each year. Oh yes! I hope to step into the European continent haha. Have never been to Europe! Even my 16-year-old sister has gone to Spain and back. Looks like skydiving will have to take a back seat till about 2016 or later (need to save money). Oh man my life gets less exciting as I grow older :(
Oh and I need to lose weight.
297 days to the big day my app says!
