Damnity damn! My thigh keloid flattened after the jabs, but I think it's starting to resurface again! It's feeling a leeeeeetle bumpy. Gonna ask the Dr to check it and maybe give it another jab during my next visit! GRRRRR.

Compared to last year, this year's F1 weekend was pretty quiet and uneventful.

Hello weekend, we meet again.

I've had an absolutely slack and idyllic week doing absolutely nothing! Despite the fact that a whole lot of mucus decided to make my respiratory system their home for the week. Late for work almost every day, enjoying my Sausage McMuffins, listening to Class 95, surfing Facebook, playing Sims Social, and knocking off early whenever I don't have my exercise classes. My bosses will probably come back on Monday and jump. :x oh well. Not as if there's a lot to do while they're away.

Attended this makeup workshop yesterday for Artistry products and I present to you my scary made-up face:

Haha! Not used to having such dark eyebrows LOL.

Started to watch The Pupil on xinmsn - initially to catch our dongsaeng who guest-starred in an episode, but I got mildly hooked after watching bits and snippets of it! I think Adrian Pang and Janice Koh's chemistry in the show is sizzzzzzzzzzling hawt!

Ok gotta get ready to go for my facial.

I have been good this month - it's already past mid-month and I've only bought a shrug online! Oh and also a pair of pants that was too big for my sister. I also didn't spend that much on beauty products and stuff!

Now I'm lured by pretty and nice outfits again... clothes that will only see the light of day during weekends. Oh no this is bad. My wardrobe is already bursting. And there is no space at home for a second wardrobe. Please convince me that I do not need an embroidered dress.

It's gonna be a quiet work week coz both bosses are in Japan! I just hope they won't bother me when they're there.

Anyway some snapshots of the weekend past:

Visited Ade's new home and here are the master chefs cooking up a storm in her kitchen!

Master chefs whipped up a pretty decent dinner - Chef Koh's doumiao and mushroom (and I helped fry the egg!)

Chef Yeo's Korma chicken - a little like curry but not really

After realizing that none of us knows how to chop a whole chicken, I decided it's time for me to learn some life skills...

I'm bored at work, bosses are all at a offsite meeting, and blogging at work does not reflect well professionally or otherwise, but hey, I'm bored at work (and there's no one in the office)!

So anyway I don't know how it happened, but it's already September, and while it's all cool to angst and very tempting to proclaim "wake me up when September ends", I thought of my list of things to do for 2011 and decided to take stock of my life a little. Why? Because I'm at point in my life where I am feeling absolutely aimless, bored, and I have no friends to hang out with.

Take a look at my list:

1) Climb a mountain (we are aiming for Mount Kinabalu) - FAIL, have not seriously started this at all
2) Do something about that Phillips Securities account and start looking seriously into letting my money grow for me! - FAIL, too lazy to read up and no money to invest
3) Get a pair of new spectacles - DONE but it's not as if it's an accomplishment
4) See a derm about my ugly back - DONE and still ongoing
5) Have the discipline to maintain my exercise regime - DONE and it's ongoing
6) Embrace new challenges that may or may not arise in my job - DONE and still trying to embrace it

4 out of 6, I passed! But then again, that wasn't a very ambitious list to begin with. I also started my Project 365, which is now in a semi-comatose state. While I have tried to take daily snapshots, I have been extremely lazy in uploading them. So now I have a ton of photographs in my computer/iPhone that are not uploaded. For starters, I think I better start aiming for that mountain thing and make it a reality.

Currently I have no major complaints with my job but I'm bored shitless by my personal life. There is always something that makes you feel that there should be more to life than work. Every now and then I get smacked in the face by a quarter-life crisis; this is one of those times.

It's time to stop thinking that you care, because you never did.

The perfect road trip song. Which I heard countless times during our road trip!

One Republic - Good Life

Actually it would make a pretty good funeral song too. Play this at my funeral when I leave!

Heard 2 songs today which transported me straight to my Secondary school days. Ah, the nostalgia. All coupled with the thought that I'm gonna be on the wrong side of my mid-twenties soon. :(

I still remember - Blue house cheerleading song in 1999!

Vengaboys - Kiss (When The Sun Don't Shine)

Oh my god super old school! M2M - Don't Say You Love Me

Boo! Nobody noticed my crop of newly-browned hair! :(

Well tried and tested, the end result of both Mocha Orange and Cassis Berry on my hair is the same. One is supposed to have a reddish tinge lor. :(

A few months back I had this delightful gastronomic experience that I thought deserved a proper entry on its own. Unfortunately life got in the way and I didn't have much time to sit down and blog about it properly. This is the first weekend in eons that I've stayed at home for the entire weekend! So here goes.

On Ade's hen night many moons ago (in May, actually), we traipsed down to Wild Rocket for a good dinner. It was so good we all ended up raving about it on the way back to MBS.

Wild Rocket's kind of like this fusion food place, so there were local flavours infused with angmoh food. Since I'm not a food blogger nor a discerning foodie with sensitive tastebuds, expect a lot of descriptives such as "yummy", "awesome", "delicious" and the like. Hahaha.

There were 6 of us and we each ordered something different so that we can share, and I'm glad we did! Coz I got to sample so much goodness!!!

For our sides, we had this:

Burmese tomato and blue swimmer crab salad, which was pretty good

Crabmeat potato mash, not that spectacular compared to the rest

For starters, we had this:

Bah kut teh with 3 small pieces of foie gras and 3 small pieces of wanton

Foie gras and bah kut teh may sound weird but it went quite nicely together! This bowl is probably meant to serve 1, but 6 of us shared so we only got a few sips each. The broth was flavourful, a little peppery if I recall, but overall gooooood. (Told ya I am bad at describing food.)

And for the main courses:

300-day grain-fed black angus ribeye with pioppino mushroom and truffle sabayon

I don't eat beef, but Angie (who likes her steak bloody and raw) said that it was good and cooked to rare perfection.

Laksa pesto linguini with tiger prawns and quail egg

This was an interesting combi. I ordered this, but it got a bit gelat after a while. The laksa taste can be a bit too much. But still fragrant and I like the tiger prawns coz they were fresh and QQ.

Baked red grouper with french beans and laksa broth

Another laksa inspired dish. Well I generally like fish so I liked this, probably more than my pasta.

Baked creamy tau yew bah ragout cannelloni

Yeah, I don't understand what that tongue twister name means either. Gosh it has been so long that I forgot what it tasted like. Everything tasted good to me!

Duck confit with mom's yam cake and plum mustard sauce

I really really really like the yam cake that came with this one. Superb! Really good yam cake. I think I can just eat the yam cake on its own. Can't remember what the duck tasted like LOL.

Tandoori rack of lamb with apalam and cucumber yoghurt

OK this was one of the main highlights of the night! I don't really eat lamb that much, but I must say this lamb was really juicy and tender! Fabulous choice. One of my top picks.

And now for the desserts. OMG the desserts. They are in a class of their own. Every single one of them was so awesomely good!

Pink grapefruit champagne jelly with calamansi granita and pomelo

Very light and refreshing! Cleanses the palate after a heavy meal.

Dark chocolate gateau with milk ice cream

This had a slightly crisp, burnt out layer (which I like), and when you cut it open the chocolate inside oozes out... and it's not overly sweet too. I am not the biggest fan of chocolate because it can get really gelat but this was just nice.

Lychee martini white chocolate tart

OK I can't remember what it tasted like now but I know I liked it...

Wild rocket strawberry cheesecake

This cheesecake is served in a very unique way - kind of disintegrated in a cup, instead of a normal slice. But the crumbs were very fragrant, went well with the strawberry and cheese, not too sweet, overall one of my top choices for the night too. YUM! :)

Pandan panna cotta with gula melaka

I'm saving the best for the last. This one is the mother of all desserts. It rates 11/10 on the dessert scale. This pandan panna cotta, I tell you, is truly ORGASMIC. It looks rather plain and boring but don't be deceived by its looks! You gotta taste it to know it! The pandan fragrance was immediately apparent when it was placed on our table. And just one spoonful of this... OMG it will bring you to dessert heaven. Smooth, creamy, melts-in-your-mouth goodness... all found in this little innocent looking green blob. It's like an explosion of taste in your mouth. We all couldn't get enough of it. Unanimously voted #1!

And it came complimentary and wasn't in the menu when we ordered. So luckily we got a chance to taste this delightful wonder!

Blogging about this is making me hungry and now I have a craving for pandan panna cotta and the Wild Rocket strawberry cheesecake. :x

It was a great dining experience though. Not that pricey considering that we ordered quite a fair bit. Great for special occasions! My only gripe was that it was kinda noisy.

OK need to sleep. I just bubble dyed my hair mocha orange over the weekend. Please tell me that it's nice when you see me! :x I think I prefer my old bubble dye colour (some berry or cherry thing).
