It's pouring.
I feel like my face has a lot of clogged pores and I need to go unclog them asap!
Today would have been a good day to go unclog them but I can't get an appointment. :(
I have to get up super early to run 5km tomorrow morning. Good luck to me on waking up... Ugh Saturday's not even over yet but I feel like my weekend's way too short!!!

First they implemented no-pay leave and off days, and then now they decide to reinstate our pay for the month of November! Which means... NO OFF DAYS IN NOVEMBER.

Sengkang is no longer ulu! The Sunday Times said so!

Sengkang is no ulu-er than some of the western estates in Singapore. I personally think that the Bukits (Batok, Gombak, Timah) and Choa Chu Kang are just too inconvenient to get to. Just like what the reporter shared in his column, it probably took me a longer time to visit my friends' houses in the said areas than for me to get to NUS.
This new town is young, vibrant, and not too loud or messy.
Indeed, our connectivity has improved tremendously after NEL started running in 2003. Prior to that, it was such a chore getting to town!
It's near the airport. Other big towns like Pasir Ris and Tampines in the west, and Ang Mo Kio, Yishun and Woodlands in the north are just a short drive away.
It's near the more mature Hougang and the fresh and quiet Punggol.
I like taking Sunday jogs around the estate. Plus there are up and coming projects like the Punggol waterfront!

Ugh I am such a sucker for freebies that come with purchases. I just spent a bomb on skincare products after spending a bomb on the same category of things last month. So much for thinking that "HALF THE MONTH IS OVER AND I AM STILL UNDER MY OWN SPENDING BUDGET!" :( I effectively bust that glass ceiling I set for myself today.

Thank goodness my Internet connection speed is now faster after I called SingNet to complain and the call centre agent did some tweaking on my computer through remote access. But he agreed that my download speed is slower than what we are paying for and a technician will be coming down to check my cables and stuff! IT'S ABOUT TIME! Can't believe I've been tolerating insufferable speeds for months!
The biggest improvement is that now it only takes ONE TRY to load Restaurant City!!!

So there is no Korean Pop Night concert this year (much to the dismay of Kpop fans in Singapore), BUT there's going to be Seoul'd Out! Jointly organized by KTO, Red Spade Entertainment and part of the Sundown Festival, a few Korean pop acts will drop right here in Singapore on 12 Dec.
Frankly the line-up is not that impressive, especially after giving Kpop fans a taste of bigger acts like the Wonder Girls, 2PM, Junjin and Andy last year. Still, I wouldn't mind going to see the Brown Eyed Girls and F.T Island. Now, need to find kakis who are into Kpop and wouldn't mind going to see BEG do their hip-sway!

We did not plan to meet initially. Alas, fate intervened, and like the proverbial bad boy, I was too easily seduced by the allures of 萬子. 正如纪存希而言: "第一次是偶然, 第二次是必然, 第三次是命中注定." LOL.
He charmed and misled me into thinking that I can win with 半色, 碰碰胡, but the elusive 二萬 I was waiting for never appeared...!!!!!!
He appeared again when I was "莊", this is 5 台 from the flowers alone and 4 台 from 清一色!
He continued to make random appearances for the rest of the night...
But failing to come through when I needed him the most!!!
To be fair to 萬子, he did provide me with fleeting moments of happiness when I won big. LOL.
Our rendezvous lasted till early morning, and like a hard-hearted lover, he left...

我挥一挥衣袖，不带走一片云彩
Next time I'm gonna play with bamboos and marbles and have a fling with 小筒 and 小索! HAHAHAHA!

I just informed my mom that I will be going to Cambodia in December, and just as I expected, she tsk-tsked about our choice of country and clucked about "daring" we are - 3 girls traipsing across an unknown (and possibly extremely dangerous) land.

We'll just have to be doubly, doubly careful.
I should probably save my money for next year but I keep getting tempted by all these cheap flight deals and wanderlust! And besides, I want to visit the Angkor Wat at least once in my lifetime! So terrible.
Sigh, so much for wanting to sleep early... I've been struggling to keep my eyes open at work these days. This is not good.

Took a short trip to Batam about a month back!

Directly facing the sea!
The beachfront cottages. The rooms are really small though.
Our package included a city tour on the second day, as well as a seafood lunch.
And some other randomness :)
I realized I don't have that many pictures to share. Most of my photos are of us goofing off. Hahaha. Anyway the spa was an interesting experience. I had a full body scrub for the first time! And... consider the fact that we were facing the sea, with nothing in between to block any random ship's view. Ade and Sandy unanimously decided that the body scrub was far worse than our Japan onsen experience. LOL. We also shopped a lot at supermarkets coz the food there was really cheap. :) I much preferred this Batam trip over my Bintan trip in April.
Any holiday with good company is always pleasant and a great adventure. With 2 short trips and 1 long trip so far, this was my 3rd time out of the country in this year. Next up would be Cambodia in December! :)
